  1. Hey showmespeed what bulldog blood are you using? I would say a lot of bull blooded dogs need plenty time before being worked to game, bulldogs don't seem to have been bred to start young and were often kept on a chain till 18 months. This time is best spent socialising these crosses, stock breaking and working on their hunting ability and nose. Get them traveling underground, working cover and connecting their nose to their brains.
  2. No place here for sarcasm or experience
  3. Yeah Eric, You've seen both breeds working. Where you can legally dig fox ,badger and raccoons, plus working wild boar driven to guns, or blood trailing etc. What would you know? Most guys here have read about them on the net or seen them on youtube. We don't want your opinions based on practical experience in field.
  4. The Irish shouldn't be speaking English.
  5. take a look on the ban digging out site, they've collected loads from here and even made a video to music of them.

  9. Mackel, they are bringing in an animal welfare act and hunting and coursing are excluded from it. But the Minister has decided to use it to ban digging with Terriers.
  10. the Minister has stated that all forms of hunting and coursing will be exempted from the Animals wrlfare act. except Digging, which will be banned by the act. Quote "The measure applies only if there is undue cruelty such as the digging out of animals when they have gone to ground, which is unacceptable" th Anti's are asking people to email him to puh for a ban. http://www.banbloodsports.com/ln120529.htm Maybe people here could do the same to defend hunting with terriers? It's a freedom enjoyed through out Europe. Most animals are quickly bolted and shot. There is little ri

  12. They won't even need a search warrant and it's a huge change in existing laws to allow these guys who'lll have no training or qualifications to walk into any place they like on a hunch. An authorised officer shall not enter, except with the consent of the occupier, a section 45 private dwelling unless he or she has obtained a search warrant underother than where he or she has reasonable grounds for believing that before a search warrant could be section 45 sought in relation to the dwelling under , any evidence of an offence referred to in subsection

  17. SO ONLY UGLY TERRIERS WORK No, looks has nothing to do with it. When you breed for looks you compromise, that's were the road splits.
  18. How can anyone breeding with even half an eye on looks be seen as preserving a working breed? If that were true we should be thanking KC breeders for all the great work they've done for fox ,west highlands, scottish, cairn, sealyham, manchester etc. etc. etc. terriers

I can't see anyone following him and going out and shooting English kids off camping for the weekend? As self defense against Muslim Terrorism? But maybe I'm wrong? Some on here seem excited and inspired by what he did.
  20. No, take responsibility for what happens locally. Don't sit back and think any organisation will do more than you can do yourself. Look to how Ireland has been successful already.
  21. "The hand can't hit what the eye we can't see" I'm not so sure that Ireland need to follow how things have been done with clubs , organisations and federations in Britain. Ireland had many terrier clubs in the 60's and 70's and an all island association but they were more instrumental in causing a ban on badger digging than anyone else. Ireland has been more successful at preserving the rights to hunt with terriers than any of the British nations? Maybe people should look at why Ireland has been more successful? It's easy to be dismissive of a perceived Irish simplicity in all thi
  22. I'd love the excuse to drive to sweden all the time. Why do people think that Courage and Brains are mutually exclusive? I haven't always seen that.
  23. But it's a slightly different frequency! only Humans are now meant to transmit on 457kHz
