  1. i agree bryan but down round your neck of the woods there's one or two men startin to let fame go to there head and euro into the pocket They'll find themselves painted into a corner soon enough. A few selling for fame and cash is okay too, saves the good ones from being robbed
  2. There's still working type sealyhams about. Most are given to working homes and can't be bought for any money.
  3. There's been no "Pure" sealyhams digging for probably 100 years. Who cares about purity? There's been working sealyham types about. An outcross doesn't diminish a working type once it's working. Surely the important things are working ability and style within a working type animal? This is from Lucas's book 85 years ago. Sealyham type. non pedigree, types and cross breeds for the most part here again. Workers for working surely?
  4. as Zerky says "Anyone and I mean anyone with half an idea could breed a terrier that can be dug to by adding bull blood (because the prey drive is so high (which it should be!!))"
  5. It's easy to write a pedigree without putting down what's behind the dog.
  6. I'm just thankful that people were able to produce smooth coated bull headed dogs from the shaggy old terriers that were hanging about in Tommy Dobson's day. How did they do it, magic I guess?
  7. 16 lbs, find anywhere, uses her voice, takes a hold when gets a chance and rarely gets bitten. 1/4 cross. Some very lazy people out there, I'm surprised they're on foot and not driving around on a quad.
  8. From what I've read on the internet Jadg terriers could fly helicopters if allowed.
  9. properly used antibiotics are the greatest things available to humans and animals. They dangers are not using enough for long enough, using the wrong type of antibiotic for the type of infection (gram +/-) low risk of allergic reaction, even if used before. People or dogs don't develop resistance to antibiotics , bacteria develops resistance if the wrong dose, timing or type of antibiotic is used. Proper speedy after care will help reduce the needs for antibiotics, but don't be afraid to use them. wash everything with plenty of saline or very dilute cooled boiled water wit
  10. EBT was the first working terrier bred for looks alone?
  11. The Animal Health and Welfare Act 2013https://www.agriculture.gov.ie/media/migration/animalhealthwelfare/legislation/AnimalHealthandWelfareAct060314.pdf includes provision for increased powers for authorised officers to investigate complaints of animal cruelty, and stricter penalties on convictions. New penalties for convictions include powers granted to a judge to ban a person from owning an animal and a maximum five-year prison sentence. The new law allows authorised officers, including gardaí, Department of Agriculture representatives and officers from animal welfare groups, such as the
  12. Bigger problem is the people behind that post (DSPCA) have become authorised officers under the new animal health and welfare bill
  13. ronaldo and robben dive on average once a game. That's cheating but "it's part of the modern game" Is going in 2 footed or studs showing any less serious an assault on someone than a bite? If someone is through on goal defenders are expected to take them out every time, if they can't make the tackle. I don't see what the fuss is all about.
  14. If you dig a wide enough hole you don't need any box. The old grey box was pin point accurate, but it wasn't reliable. Why trade accuracy for reliability?
  15. And your friend keeps buying them? It tells me Gould is a genius.
  16. Better to ask your questions out with the Harrier pack you hunt with or to the guy who bred your terrier, than here on the internet. Message boards are full of rigid opinions and absolutes, whereas in reality most successful dogmen are flexible in their approach and more open in their interpretations of situations out hunting especially with younger dogs. Or else they are liars
  17. How did people go from this type of Russel to what's about now, without breeding for looks? there were always that type and the leggy type for well over a century..horses for courses possibly, but the type in the picture is pretty much gone now, while the pretty type just kept getting prettier
  18. How did people go from this type of Russel to what's about now, without breeding for looks?
  19. 144 pages, but is there a single dog or bitch on this thread being dug to regularly?
  20. pups not around long enough to be named? proper terrier men then.
  21. take him to a greyhound muscleman,, if it's anything spinal or a trapped nerve that can be treated they'd be able to sort it. If not it's an easier decision for you http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/304012-useful-numbersvets-muscle-men/
