  1. From Blaze Publishing Airgun Shooter Edited by Nigel Allen April issue hit W H Smiths - last week Understand it went down well @ last Weekends Shooting Show Has a on line site - http://www.airgun.tv BOB/R
  2. Alway's Suggest Checking out your Local Air Gun Club Most Air Gun Clubs have Web sites and can be found - googling Air Gun Club - your Area To see what is about and why others are using them Also a chance that you might pick up a Bargin As most have a For Sale Table - where Members sell on unrequired Guns and Accessories BOB/R
  3. I have a Bar custom HW100 in .177 Mine run's on a Diet of Defiant 4.52 for Targets Exterminator 9.50's for Hunting & Defiant 15's for real stopping power BOB/R
  4. Sounds like you was using Dynamic Triple P's Made for CO2 Competition Shooting There is a .22 Version Called XP2's @ 14.50 Grains It's a Rifle Version of the TAC 2 Used by many Shooters around Water for Rat's Both made of Tin - Do not flatten on Water - Was made for Good Target Marking www.airgunpllets.com BOB/R
  5. Sounds like the Wrong pellets - what are you using ? Break Actions prefer lighter - even Gas Ram's Aware logun Penetrator / Exterminator - can give good results - would also effect power outcome Or Even Defiant 14.00's - Light and can take the power BOB/R
  6. My understanding - start's life as a Rifle - must not be shortened below legal minimum of 24 1/2 Inches Any shorter is not classed as a Air Rifle So regardless of make - if it is shorter and over 6FP - Banged to rights...................... BASC - does have a list of known Fire Arms Solictors - even available for none Members @ Cost As Succesful prosecution is a Nail in All Our Coffins As add's to the Figures that the Anti's Roll out everytime they Want Air Gun's restricted BOB/R
  7. Sounds like they have had it tested @ a local Range or Gun Shop with Pellets Found Which they will often do before sending it off for a Full test Which I am advised is around £700 these day's And Police being skint - they need a real reason to send it off for testing Possiblity - they will offer you the chance to surrender Gun for Destruction Which seems to be the norm these day's If you opt against it they will push for full testing and possible prosecution Believe if visiting a House / Location and see Air Guns any Guns without license They can take them away for testing
  8. Gollum, No location As might have had better suggestion I have had precharge Air Gun's from the start - many years Never sent back one of annual Servicing In the words of Mike Childs - Skan - My first precharge - Skan Swif in .25 If not broke why play........... Great danger of Sending Air Gun's to Air Arms - as they seem to not only service but Re-adjust power on returned Air Gun's - downwards Unless they are loosing or going off - which does not often happen There are several known Shooters that will Service Air Gun's We even had one come to Lea Val
  9. In my view one of the issues that let down BSA Multi Shots Well discussed on BSA owners Board http://bsaog.co.uk/forum/index.php But Give BSA their dues they will sort them BOB/R
  10. I have Single Shot Scorpion Rifle - in .177 Also used as a Club Gun @ Lea Valley Great Accurate Rifle Only issue is BSA Magazines The rest is great........... BOB/R
  11. Price is rather Fixed as Most Dealers will not price Match And under VCR Gun has to be brought from a Dealer Check out Local Air Gun Clubs - as Often seen on For Sale Tables Which most Gun clubs have these Day's BOB/R
  12. It's currently a Buyer Market - But - it's pre Anti Tamper - worth a premium these Day's New Guns have Factory Sealed Power Seals BOB/R
  13. Unless you have your own land Forget it - as most Grounds do not have cover As they do travel a Distance And remember loosing more bolts than Targets hit Crossbow BOB/R
  14. Arm Trespass - Chance of Getting Shot Plus winding up Local Press Against Air Gunners Check out Local Air Gun Club - might find some willing to Share their Shoot As Often posted there are Several hundred Shooters for each available Vermin Shoot Most local Shoots are often covered by Air Gun Club Members BOB/R
  15. What Calibre ? Exterminators / Penetrators Should give good results Defiant 5.52's if .22 @ 14 Grains seem to give .22's that Extra Punch As many have found when getting Gun's back from JB - with Defiant Test Cards BOB/R
  16. Rangemasters are Bullet Shaped - which will really whack targets Which weight and in what Gun ? BOB/R
  17. Be Very....careful - As most Pistols do not have enough power The New Brocock AimX runs closes to 6FP and will do the job Most other pistols will not kill........ Remember a Vermin Control firm used to use Anics Skiffs Until someone noticed that it do not kill until several shots and reported them for cruelty Bad publicity and a Fine......... Multi shot's sound good but do not always bring instant death - so open for cruelty Charges BOB/R
  18. Falcons have never been a mass circulated Gun So not a lot of unused spares around Contact Falcons / Air Arms - Office hours 01323 845853 www.air-arms.co.uk Sure they will supply you direct BOB/R
  19. Have read that most serious Shooters are a Member of a Shooting Association Who are you covered by ? And have you ever made a Claim Or had problems dealing with Claim ? Personally been with BASC - for most of my Shooting Life Yes more expensive than some But Staff cost money and Staff are needed to Deal with Issues BOB/R
  20. Spend £10.00 for a Defiant Trial pack - 5.48/5.50's/5.52's Sure one of them will give you good results and @ 14.00 Grains they will fly flater than most other pellets And Still hit home Hard BOB/R
  21. BASC is a full Blown Shooting Association http://www.basc.org.uk Staff you can Talk to Full Active Web Site What Most Land owners and users belong to BASA offers a Bit of Paper............. You get what you pay for these Day's.............. BOB/R

  23. Was @ the Phoenix Shoot last Weekend On Winans Range - The Old Pistol Range Where we was doing introductory Shoots to Steel Plate Shooting with Umarex Clones Plus a IPAS Match The number of Shooters that visited us that had got Their own pistols - Brought @ time but lost interest in them Accepting they are limited to range and 8- 10 Rapid Shots soons goes There a growing number of Disciplines that they can be shot in IPAS and Practical Pistol are just Two Also had several Tac Owners - who ask if possible to use them in the Sport Yes check out http://www
  24. Might pay to use a Air Gun Club's Chrono As a RFD Dealer - can not legally hand Back a Air Gun that Exceed's the Sub 12FP Limit As required to Advise and Hand over to Police A Club will ask you to get is sorted before returning to it's Range Most Clubs have Chrono's these days BOB/R
  25. As covered - does not matter what Gun or Calibre used - sometimes life is not finished off - cleanly But then one can not used a Powder burner out in to most Gardens Reason I like using multi shot Air Gun's - believe the first one did not do the Job Give it another Shot BOB/R
