  5. nice one mate bought a few things yesterday and there here already if i was you i would add that you own merthyr hunting & shooting in the about us page so more people realise your totally legit best of luck with it all , i might list up some bait packages later
  6. im currently using a harness for my terrier, it came with the dog rather than me buying it its alright but ive had him chained up trying to train him with ferrets and he exhaled and pulled back straight out of it and grabbed at the ferret so im not 100% on how secure they are even when tight so once i get some money il get a decent collar for him instead not tried a break stick but tried all sorts to try and get him to release a dog he got hold of when i first got him not including the tea towel holder trick lol only thing that did work was by lifting his back legs although hes not allowed
  7. hope you get off lightly with it mate i bought a s200 a few months back, asked the bloke what it was running at he told me it was around 11.5 as soon as i had some spare cash i bought a chrono for peace of mind, 1st couple of shots bang on 11.5 but once it hit the sweet spot it was over 14lbs so i lowered it and had a tweeky mod fited to make sure its got a flatter curve rather than risk the odd shot getting a bit close
  8. mines had 7 ,so 338
  9. ive got a lakeland x jrt ive had him since he was 3 1/2 and he will kill my ferrets given the chance had a close shave trying to get him used to them and he jumped up and grabbed at my jills tail, she sprayed him and spun round and sunk her teeth into his chin and before he knew it he was upside down as i thought he had hold of her apparently getting a evil ferret to bite your dog will stop the dog going near them again but mine still wants to kill them so has to be indoors when im handling the ferrets bit silly realy as i got the ferrets thinking hed enjoy going out rabbiting with them
  10. used to be alot around salisbury wiltshire , only seen one since moving to wales and very few active warrens
  11. mine always have dry in the hutch but i also rotate every day with mince or chicken wings to give them a bit of variation my hob loves mince and whole chicken wings and my jill loves the dry and also likes a bit of mince but i have to cut up the wings or she just hides them and doesnt eat them they also get a egg yolk each a week and some lactose free milk as a treat havnt got any permission yet so havnt had the chance to feed them rabbit but i got a air rifle today so theyl be getting the odd crow and woody soon hopefully
  12. cheers lads just made a offer on a second hand hills with dry pack id like a cylinder but it would mean getting a lift to get it re filled plus itl be heavier than the pump if i decide to take it out with me but i will most likely get a small cylinder at some point if the pumps too much like hard work, read its a pump per shot so shouldnt be too bad with a s200 as you dont get many shots cheers
  13. nice one Hughesey thats kind of what i was thinking, youd expect a bit of info on them online cheers
  14. hello im after a stirup pump for a s200 and ive been offered a Gehman pump for 75 plus postage ive looked online but cant find them or any info on them, are they anygood? and is it worth it? cheers

  19. hello mate thats a very generous offer i already have a logo that i use but if you can come up with a better one id be happy to use it my business is www.a-tractbaits.com
  20. im still trying to get permission for ferreting myself but most places either have people doing it already or been messed about in the past so im going to get a air gun and smoker to open up my options a bit to get my foot in the door through the summer ive found all the info ive needed on here, start at page 1 and work your way to the last page reading what ever interests you i think its much better to get different views rather than a one sided book atleast then you can make your own mind up on whats best and by the time theres ferrets about for sale/free you should know what you need to
  21. you could possible try some high pressure electrical contact cleaner to clean out the bits of worn off graphite, its the same with most stereo equipment but you want the stuff without the lube, if its that bad you could unsolder it and put it in a small amount of it to soak and give it a good shake out it wont leave any ressidue so you should get a clean track so no feedback
  22. i was just told that about the rats ganging up on them by old boy, he just said if they were cornered they do it but i havnt got first hand experience of it i know rats used to get in my mums old boyfriends pigeon loft and kill the odd pigeon , all theyd eat was the breast,or might of been the heart and liver i cant remember
  23. like i said its not something id personally do but each to their own but i think ferrets just love killing things its how they live in the wild ,rats have got sharp front teeth good for gnawing but as far as i know there prey is pretty small in the wild, do they even eat mice? voles? i think ferrets are better for killing and will kill most things given the chance but if ganged up on by a few rats they would get messed up pretty bad so thats why i wouldnt personally risk it
  24. the bloke i got my hob off had real small ferrets he does a bit of ratting with them and the bloke i got my jill off does it too but they were a fair bit bigger my hobs tiny compared to my jill but he is lightning fast, much faster than my jill i wouldnt do any ratting with him but i dont think hed take any stick hed be straight on them no messing
