Ive been told they are not bad for the money but I've never actually seen one being used . As soon as I get chance I'll have a go casting with it and see if the dt9 lines that come with it match it

Yes . I think one of the staff died and the owner moved the shop over to colne or barnoldswick but I from what I can gather he was ill so shut it altogether

Trout Fishing: How Much Kit Do You Carry?
neil r replied to Pete E's topic in Fresh & Salt Water Fishing
I tend to use use the smallest 2 sizes of blue fox (not shitty fox tackle) spinners rather than mepps, no real reason for that other than the shop didn't have mepps . Whatever you do , don't think all spinners are the same . It's not unusual for cheaper spinners not to spin . The main rod I use for ultralight fishing is a Sakura sportism 7ft UL with either a shimano aernos in 2500 size with 5kg yellow power pro or a sienna in 2500 with multicoloured 5kg power pro depth hunter braid . I'll take a pic if you want after the football but this is it with the sienna and multicoloured braid in this v -
Trout Fishing: How Much Kit Do You Carry?

I normally use one of these for my ultralight fishing but I've been using a chest mount camera so I've just been sticking half a dozen in a small box in my pocket and leaving some others in the car just in case . And then it's just a case of a small rod and reel and a folding net just in case I hook something a bit bigger . http://www.gerrysfishing.com/sakura-chest-packerkoa-bag.ir -
I've been in gerrys for sea fishing gear , didn't think they did fly gear . I'll be up that way fishing in the next few weeks so I'll have a good look round this time

Any body know anything about the older Shakespeare oracle salmon rods , not the xt version . I just got talking to a customer in the tackle shop and ended up buying a 12ft #9-10 and oracle reel and 3 lines for £45 off him . He said it was a switch rod and I didn't really have a proper look at it , but on having a look when I got home it's a small Spey rod which I'm not bothered about , just wondering if they are any good or not

Never been to John Norris but its a shop I'm going to with the mrs for my birthday present in march. One of my clubs has fishing on the Eden , esk , irt and mint aswell , not sure the mrs will be happy if I stop of for a bit of fishing though . I won't have time to go up tomorrow though and I want a 10ft 3 weight for Sunday , preferably a vision or maybe an hardy if I can get one

Does anyone know any shops with a good stock of fly gear in or close to Lancashire , the one I used to use in Stockport has shut down and most of the local shops have either no fly gear or just a token amount of cheap low end stuff . Ted carters used to alright but it's not the shop it used to be and most of the gear on their website is just a list of tackle they don't actually stock . I know I can order online but I like to get hands on before I buy when I'm looking for rods

Did a bit when I was at school and found out my family used to own half of great harwood and also the judge who had the pendle witches locked up was also a family member who was a landowner and had them locked up because he wanted their land . Don't know how it was all lost though

Both work and it's just down to how you want to fish on the day but you will cover more water and as a result more pike with lures . You go a while without a bite and then you hit a few back to back and then nothing again till you find some more .

i blinked and missed it!! Where was the replay? I agree should of been stopped a couple rounds before that https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KkujG5TZPZE&feature=share Missed it myself when I got up to let the dogs out

Renault megane estate by far the worst , it was a different light on the dashboard everyday and it was a toss up whether the windows would work or not or if the stupid keyless card thing would be recognised and start the car even though it had just opened the doors . It pissed me off so much I only kept it a couple of months before I scrapped it .

One of the lads I fish with tried it before the season closed but had more chub than trout on little kopytos and micro frys .

My terrier has been 100% from the first time out and never let me down once . My lurcher marks but its in an half arsed way so i dont rely on him for that and my whippet doesnt bother at all

Casting weight is important, the 2 pictures are lures that I use . The little crazy fish white bait weighs about a gram all in with the fly tying bead as the weight. I use that with 8lb pe braid on a 0.5-7g xtra fast action 7ft rod and I can feel every bit of weed or rock . The other pic is a magnum dawg weighing 8-9oz and is used on a 300gram rated rod with 48kg braid and I can feel everything. Both are extremes and the big one is not what wilfs looking at but I'm just trying to show a 1 rod cant do everything well . If I tried throwing a mag dawg on the ultralight outfit or anything less tha

For trout have a look at ultralight rods with something around the 0.5-7gram casting range with a 1000-2500 size reel and 6-10lb braid . It will cast small spinners and lures better than something heavier and will double for perch and chub aswell . For pike if you don't want to go down the multiplier route and just want a general lure rod have a look at something in the10-30g 15-40g or 20-60g range , depending on the size of lures you'll be using . A 2500-4000 size reel and 20-30-50lb braid depending on what casting weight you go with , and traces to match .
