It’s pretty shallow where you are fishing there and it’s mainly the game lads you see on that side of the bridge . The free section behind the golf course is a better bet and you can tell when it’s fishing because there will be cars parked on halfpenny bridge . Have you tried the day ticket stretch on ribchester front . You can get day tickets from the spar . If you do go there , don’t go on the grass bank below the tush pool on the front , it’s about a million foot deep with boulders the size of cars and you’ll struggle to hold bottom and when you do it will probably be because it’s snagged .

An h reg 1.3 metro , think it was a clubman . It was my grandads car ran it for a year and got rid
-
Funny you should say that , I was over at my mates earlier and we both mentioned the same thing with soccer Saturday on sky when they were doing outside reports , it seemed like it was women doing most of the reports
-
I use these most of the time now . The little dime is an edc but because the suspension has a locking blade I only use it while I’m out with the dogs or fishing . They are not bad , maybe not quite leatherman quality but good enough for what I want and they are not that expensive .

Woodcutters isnt a stretch ive fished a lot but ive seen plenty of starlights down towards the bridge when ive been driving over . My mate fished it a few times last year and had them to 11.15 on code red boilies
-
Is it the woodcutters farm stretch upstream of the bridge

Just sat in a car park waiting for the Mrs and a woman just tried parking in the spot at the side of me in a new car and I can’t believe what’s she’s done . She came in at a stupid angle and left the front drivers side of the car over the line into the next bay and the back of the car about 3inch from my bumper and also hit a lamppost that was in front of the bay . She never even checked to see if there was any damage . Ive moved my car out the way before she hit that aswell

This place has some sensas spares https://www.nathansofderby.com/sensas-spare-sections.ir

If you get the Wigan or St. Helens ticket for elston and go on the bottom farm my favourite 2 pegs on that stretch were off the shingle bank at the start of the redscar woods , casting downstream and also below the pipes 2 fields to the left from where you park , fish the near channel straight across from the farm on the other bank .

Its been looking horrible down there recently . Have you looked at the free stretch below half penny bridge , its the bit that backs on to the golf course . Theres some fast water at the top of the stretch that might be a better bet if you go again
-
Which stretch are you going on . There’s a few been coming out lately . The robin red will catch but i never use groundbait on there , probably will work but it’s not necessary so I don’t carry it . The 3 baits I use on the ribble are mainline hybrid , sonubaits code red and dynamite robin red , I’ve had a lot of barbel on them over the years and all I do is hair rig a boilie and either put 2 crushed and 2 full boilies in some pva mesh if I’m using straight lead or wet some 4mm pellets to make them sticky and put them in a 3-4oz korum river feeder . My mainline is 12lb with about 18inch of 12l

Paid £50 for one as a kid but the lurcher and non ped whippet i have now were gifted to me by storm68 and mick green off here .

walshie0988 off here had a pathfinder that snapped , think he had to go through some sort of ombudsman to get some money back

Have they not booked Wembley for September 22nd and April 13th . Probably povetkin first and then it will be either wilder in April or possibly Whyte if he beats Parker and wilder doesn’t sign again
-
I’ve not ordered them yet because one of the lads in the shop has a couple of kg of catalyst he says I can have , he’s been dropping it off at the shop all week though and hasn’t so far . He’s been using it for a while and says it’s a good bait and he’s had some nice fish on it . If he doesn’t drop it off for Wednesday I’ll have to just buy it direct because I’m going next Sunday/Monday
-
It’s still the same price from the P.O. , don’t know about online , the post office is only round the corner so I just get it from there . Mine is £82 for the salmon and seatrout one but it covers me for 3 rods coarse fishing aswell
-
You can still get them from the post office , you pay there and they give you a receipt which you keep and is valid till the actual license comes in the post

I love the blacklist , James spader is brilliant as reddington

The first boilies I used back in the day were richworth and if memory serves they were a dark coloured plum flavour one I think , never tried the their Tuttis though . I didn’t know they were still going , I’ve not seen them in the shops for a while now . Another one I used was their esterberry but just seemed to get tench , eels and the dreaded bream on it . If you order 3kg of the spotted fin stuff the price drops to 29.99 and the more you order the cheaper it gets . I’ll order a few key for my next trip and see how it does . If it’s ok I’ll try and get my mate to stock it , that way
-
I know what you mean , I’ve tried various different companies like sticky , dynamite ,sonubaits and impulse over the years but I always end up back on mainline cell , aciv8 and hybrid . Just got a feeling about spotted fin though for some reason so I’m going to give it a try even though I’ll have to pay full price for it and see how it goes .

Thanks for the reply , I was talking to a bloke in the shop yesterday who said pretty much the same thing about catalyst so it sounds like it could be worth a go . The smokey jack their new bait on one of Frank Warwick’s old recipes I think . He said it smells like bacon frazzles and I think he said it’s got tuna in it aswell , I’d bet it will be a good barbel bait too . I’ll order a few kg of each and try it one on each rod to see which one I prefer.
-
I’m thinking of trying something different from my usual cell and activ8 this year , no reason really , just fancy a change and spotted fin have caught my eye . Has anyone tried catalyst or the newer smokey jack and if you have do you rate them .

My mate fishes a little pond at the side of the river hyndburn in Clayton and caught a carp last Sunday with most of its tail missing. He’s been saying for a while now that it’s been getting done with otters. There’s a few barbel been found on one of the stretches on the ribble I fish in the last week aswell . I see them regular on the ribble around the balderstone - elston- ribchester areas and also on the Calder around simonstone , even had one swim by me literally 2 foot away while I was stood in the river fishing , didn’t seem to care I was there at all .
