I cannot tell the difference in flavour - depends more on the age of animal etc in my humble opinion.

I found a carcass on the South Downs. Scavengers (foxes) had stripped the carcass of meat but the only bit on the head they had was the nose and lips, much like the photo (in this case the carcass was much fresher). Maybe it is regarded in the fox world as a delicacy, being nice and soft and the bones underneath are pretty thin?

Except it is illegal in the UK!

If I can just add a thought, what about re-proofing the gun after the work?
