  1. Had a bash at one at a party. Coughed my lungs up. Worse than any bong, pipe, spliff, fags or cigars that I’ve tried. I told my mate straight away that shit shouldn’t be inhaled! My chest was rough for a couple of days after that
  2. Some of them real bulldogs look like they’d beat a whippet off the start line when they’re in condition!
  3. Amazing setup mate. They look like little belters. Love that 1st video, mother looks like she’s telling you to f**k right off! ?
  4. How tight is the beam on a blitz? Never seen one in action
  5. Tracer variable all the way. The size is up to you. I use the 170mm. Nice tight spot for me. I also recommend upgrading the bulb to an Osram HLX 62138 100w. A f***ing beast of a beam on full blast. A bit whiter than the bulb that comes with the lamp.
  6. Well each to their own like. I would much rather cover miles and miles on foot with my dog, off lead as much as possible. Galloping free in woods, open ground, hill sprints and games of fetch on a football pitch that go on for 50-60 throws. My dog would play fetch until his heart stopped and I use that to our advantage. I’ve never watched my dog on a chase and thought I bet a trot next to the bike would help him. I lamp on foot, not a bike so the miles on foot are for me too.
  7. My dog worked hard over the season, yes I’ve cut the fitness sessions right down. No hill sprints or anything like that. Just some games of fetch on flat ground to keep him ticking over. I’ve also cut the food down because he doesn’t need the amount he had. Don’t think gaining a pile of weight would be helpful over the summer. One of my lands has tac sheep on over the winter and he’s a funny f****r about dogs running on it when they’re there. So I may be tempted to have the odd shine before they’re back in October. Nice to know he would still be sharp enough to have a bash
  8. Don’t let your dog become a bloater over the summer then......simples! ? bit of common sense with it too, sets, rest etc
  9. I much prefer getting a dog fit through sprinting, sprinting and more sprinting. Can’t see the point of a lurcher trotting with a bike, built for sprinting!
  10. Sounds like owning a Mali is a lifestyle choice!
  11. Not that I want to get one, but out of interest what amount of activity and exercise does it take day to day to satisfy a Mali?
  12. I highly rate John Ryder. Onwards and upwards for that man!
  13. Exactly what I’ve found. I’ve lost squatters with the plr 500. I’ve got a red filter for my tracer 170 but haven’t been using it lately, had much better runs having the dimmer down to 50% or a bit less with the beam as tight as she goes. f***ing eyes glow lovely for my like this. My 10ah battery lasts a few hours out, that’s with a 100w osram bulb too.
  14. Got a PLR500 as my first lamp. Worth every penny of the £45 I spent on it, caught a few with it but the beam colour to me is in the blue/daylight spectrum so I struggle with it. I use it nowadays as a training lamp playing fetch in the dark. Treated myself to a Tracer 170 variable, 10ah lithium battery and a 100w Osram Xenophot bulb. Amazing setup. Tight spot, extremely bright turned up full but at 30%-50% the eyes shine lovely without spooking too much
  15. I thought Dillian boxed smart. End of the day, as clumsy as that Aussie was he had the potential of a flash knockout. Dillian’s looking good at the moment. Think he’s got the potential to cause a few upsets in the heavyweight word. On another note, first time I’ve seen Lewis Ritson fight, he’s got a fan for life. What a game f****r, seems sound as a pound too
  16. Yeah I’ve got a day pass on Now TV for it. Having a vape on some nice bud and having a few beers, loving it so far. All the fights have been cracking so far!
  17. Hi lads. Just after a bit of advice. I spoke to a vet at my local pets at home the other day about castrating hobs, but he advised against it because he said he’s seen Cushing’s Disease a few years down the line as a result of castration. He says he would do it anyway if I insisted at the same price as rabbit castration. Has anyone had this happen to them? That conversation has thrown a bit of a spanner into the works on my idea of having 2 or 3 hob kits and castrating them when their balls drop next year.
  18. I’m no expert by any means, but my beddy whippets stamina and recovery between runs has been greatly improved by hill sprints. I try to do it at least twice a week on a bloody steep bank, halfway through a 5 mike walk. He weighs 25lbs, I made a weighted chain collar starting at 1/2lb, once I built up the sprints I increased it to 1 lb. Very happy with his running lately for a little dog, also feel it’s made him very explosive from stand still.
  19. I’ve posted these before. This was my old staff. He was a cracking dog, very driven, very capable
  20. Interesting stuff. I enjoy reading about nutrition for performance. In terms of the % make up of a greyhounds diet for instance, have you ever gone into macros? Like in bodybuilding, diets are worked out as grams per pound of body weight, or calories per pound of body weight. What sort of calories does a racing greyhound require daily?
  21. I was feeding my dog on a pmr diet up until a month ago. Just meat, bones, offal and a bit of oil. In between lamping I keep him fit by sprinting him with a weighted collar on. Although very fit, he became a bit too boney, even though he was on 600g a day and weighs 11.5kg. So for a change, he’s been getting minced tripe/chicken/beef with csj complete tripe and a slice of whole meal toast twice a day. He’s piled the muscle back on, very happy with his condition and energy levels. Back to meat and bones end of the season.
  22. Hi lads. As per the title., I’m after a couple of ferrets. I had the chance of a couple of kits back in June, but i jibbed out. At the time my lurcher was 6 months old and needing my 100% attention, seeing as it was my first pup, I didn’t bother. Fast forward 6 months, I’ve got 1500-2000 acres permission, but the lamping so far has been shite. I’ve got the work for a couple of ferrets, so if anyone has got a couple of this years young spare in Wales, I would snap your hand off. Either a single ferret or a pair. They would have a 5* home, I could also sort days out on my permiss
  23. I’ll give them a ring, see if we can work something out
