  1. It has pissed me off mate and the fact ive got a couple of f*****g yanks flying thier hawks on the other part which we shoot and poaching every bit of land around it almost makes you want to pack it in But feck it i can still get out with you. And i do have a few other bits and pieces dotted about and can go with kane and royston2 for dogwork so its not the end of the world.
  2. :11: :11: thats the hobs mate wait till you see the jills their even bigger Your right about the permission though and ive lost a large piece of it now.
  3. Was getting on towards 3pm when i usually stop ferreting so had time for one more burrow set out the longnet around this one as it was very difficult to net. The longnet saved the day and caught the last rabbit which bolted from an unseen bolt hole. Image Hosting by ImgFree.net No where near as many rabbits as i had with philg yesterday But still a good do. If my little bro wants to come out more often hes going to have to learn how to keep his mouth shut when above the burrows though.
  4. Unfortunately when picking up the nets my younger brother forgot to do up the pocket which held the spare ferret finder collar causing it to fall out somewhere during the days ferreting. Which meens im now down to one collar. Cant blame him though as it was only an accident, Just meens ive got to sell a few bunnies to get a new one. Next burrow was nice and easy 4 holes on the open bank of a ditch. With an electric fence running along the top as i wasnt sure wether it was on i got my younger brother to check. He told me that it wasnt so i went to get over and had a nasty shock as the littl
  5. Unfortunately nothing was at home in the first burrow bit annoying as it took some clearing. The second burrow was around 15-20 holes some under trees but the majority along the bank of a ditch. Got 2 rabbits for our troubles.
  6. Woke up this morning and a nice frost was on the ground. Id been out yesterday with Philg but thought i might as well go out again. Well the saying bad things come in three's deffinately applied today. Loaded all the ferreting gear into the car and shot over the road to wake up my usual ferreting partner, unfortunately he was out ferreting with another bloke we know. Not one to give up easily i decided to take my younger brother instead. Go the old man to drive us out to the land we were planning to do to be met by the land owner who told us we can no longer ferret it. The reason being
  7. Your spaniel aint that bad phil you just need to teach him to respect the longnets as for me pulling out all the rabbits i reckon your just scared that your ferrets might bite you Next time ill bring my ferrets and show you what real workers are like
  8. Brilliant pictures as always keeps. Tell smudge if he dont stop smoking it will stunt his growth :11:
  9. Cramp get some heavy duty rubbeer tubing and a jubilee clip then just clamp it on the exhaust you coming down my way tommorow?

  11. Carried on along the edge of the field and found some nice burrows it was getting on we decided to just bolt for the dogs. Had to dig a couple from these burrows think we ended up with 4 or 5 from these. Image Hosting by ImgFree.net
  12. Moved out of the woodland and back into the field. We walked along the outside of the wood and got a strong mark from the dogs and phil resulted in 1 easy rabbit.
  13. Next bury was in a small piece of woodland apparently it had produced good results last time so was hoping for one this time We had bolted a couple from the last bury which ended up over here. So we knew at least 2 were at home. Netted up with the purse nets this time cover was quite high but managed to get all the holes. We accounted for the two we had seen bolt to the burrow there were other rabbits down there but they didnt want to play ball
  14. Next burrow was underneath aload of fallen branches so just left the longnets where they were and had the dogs standing by. Philg can tell you the breeding of the lurchers better i know the collie x is from Mr hancock and the other is a kelpie x whippet x grey. Both very obediant dogs and very good rabbiters. Just a shame about your springer phil Unfortunately we did end up with 2 digs and accounted for a rabbit on each of them.
  15. Id been invited out for a days ferreting with Philg from the site. We were ment to go out last season but never got round to it. The wait was worth it. We ferreted in comfort and drove right up to the burrows we were planning to ferret. Just used longnets and the lurchers on the first few burrows. The dogs had some good runs and we missed a few.
  16. I find that if two hobs live together from a young age they are fine with each other wether theyve been castrated vasectomised or whatever. Though at the end of teh day each ferret is different.
  17. Not a dig at you mate but i do find posts like this fecking funny why should people who have the permission near you tell you where it is and how good it is? As i said not a dig at you my advice is get out and ask round local farms.
  18. Can someone explain to me what is the difference in running a hare and running a rabbit
