  1. i used to work a border terrier with my warren dog.he used to mark really well but was hard mouthed and was a c*nt to get rabbits off.he also used to have a go at the other dog out of jealousy when the lurcher got rabbits.you might be better off getting a small lurcher mate

  3. nice pictures and an enjoyable day by the looks of things.well done.theres nothing better than having a couple of good running dogs to help you on youre way and im pleased to see theyre back up and doing their job atb col
  4. the comotion kicked off about twenty minuites ago.id been outside to lock the shed up and get the moggie in.i done my duties and came in and sat down.about five minuites after i had sat down the pup vanished into the kitchen with one of the moggies and there were a lot of squeals coming from the bathroom.i went in to see what was going on as i thought the pup was chewing on the cat again ,but on further inspection the cat had a rat pinned in a corner of the bathroom.im sunising the rat had snuck in whilst i had the front door open.anyway,i got the cat out of the road as i knew what was going
  5. yes this is normal.youre ferrets will be more pre occupied with breeding.there hormone levels will be sky high which in turn makes them less hungry.its not something you need to worry about
  6. Thats a cute lil pup, [bANNED TEXT] way is it bred pal? the pup is a saluki/whippe/greyhound x collie/greyhound.the old dog is a first cross collie/whippet
  7. forgot to ask...whats the dog youve got..how old is it and does it work Col, I know what you're thinking, someone to put nets over the holes and pack them away when done. What hunting experience do you have? what sex of ferrets are your working ones? are you fit ( i mean fit enough to climb steep hills lol ) do you have ferret locators and collars? reading ians post on page one it could be dead in the water before its even began mate.ive got not time for shirkers.we are there to do a job.i would rather take someone that is going to listen to what we have to say and hopefu

  13. theres not enough money about to buy the hob ive got at present.apart from it being an absolute treasure to work and own,hes made a really good stud.ive got my mates jill in with him now,she is also a good grafter.wether these kits get selt on(which i dont think they will).they wont be cheap.you pay good money for a good animal imo and i wont just sell them to any tom ,dick or harry.i like them to go to a good working home and preferably to people i know will look after them they way they deserve to be
  14. my old lurcher bitch is speyed.i got her done after her first season.she never gained any weight afterwards.i also had another lurcher i had done and she was exactly the same.as long as they are excersized daily and have a good diet you shouldnt have a problem

  16. what sort of quarry is the dog going to be used for .if its just rabbits see if you can get hold of a collie x greyhound or a collie x whippet, theyre an ideal beginners dog,can be trained quite easily and they use their brain not their braun
  17. agreed..but what sort of breeding would you use to bring these pigs down
  18. a couple of my pup.saluki/whippet/greyhound x collie/greyhound.he is ten weeks old
  19. £200 i think thats a bit steep for a pup from unproven parentage.i was considering getting a hancock pup a couple of months back as im a big fan of collie x type dogs, but i would rather they came from working parents if i was to spend that sort of money on a dog.all the best with the pup mate
  20. nice looking dogs mate.they look the spit of my pup ive just got in.all the best with them
  21. how much is he charging for his pups now?
  22. ive got both dogs and a bitch.the dogs are a bit head strong for my liking (and ive just got another dog pup in ).the bitch is 100 percent, the dogs have their momnents.if youre looking for a first dog go for a collie x greyhound or collie whippet.these dogs are easy to train, very loyal and do their job no questions asked.well thats my opinion anyway.all the best on youre decision mate
