  1. For superficial wounds, put some lavender essential oil on it. It is a natural antiseptic, helps reduce scarring and tastes horrible so the dog will not keep licking the scab off.
  2. You can only run what's there mate. Fair play to them both for taking part.
  3. A very close heat which was finally decided right at the death. After a day of cloud and wind, by the time the heat got underway just after 10pm, the skies were clear and there wasn't a breath of wind. Not what you want when one of the competitors has driven 170 miles to run, but out of anyone's control unfortunately. As a result of the conditions, the rabbits were very thin on the ground, so we ran at four different venues over the three hours in a search to find better numbers. As well as poor conditions, things weren't helped by the number of foxes abut – they seemed to out number the
  4. Mine does me OK, but it doesn't have the range of a Striker. If you are going to be giving the dogs long slips I would get a Striker, otherwise you'll be alright with the Cluson.
  5. Haven't we got enough threads on here slagging travellers and tarring them all with the same brush? Getting really boring now – there's good and bad in all walks of life, including travellers.
  6. I think the Arabs leave them on because they mostly run their dogs on sand so there is much less chance of them getting caught. I wouldn't personally leave them on any dog I was running in this country.
  7. Can anyone tell me the breeding of the Charlie dog please?
  8. Hello mate and welcome. I'm from St Ives originally, but living in Hampshire now – you anywhere near there? Good luck with your search for a pup.
  9. Have a look on here mate: http://blackwhippet.**"£$%^&*(101.com/index.cgi
  10. Good interesting thread, and only one shit stirrer in two pages.
  11. This is the greatest dog of them all – first cross saluki whippet if I'm not mistaken.
  12. Excuse my ignorance, but what are the benefits of having just 1/8 greyhound in these pups?
  13. I only know one person who has a Hancock, and to be fair it has done everything it's been asked to, season after season. Perhaps he's just been lucky but there are some good ones out there.
  14. Not the best pic, but this is my mate's collie/grey x beddy/whippet and my ped whippet.
  15. Better than a war criminal with his tiger cub.
  16. Lynperry, Banatay and Moonlake lines are the ones who I think are still actively breeding which spring to mind. Laguna and Nimrodel are the ones everybody talks about but I don't think they're breeding any more.
  17. Really hope you get your dogs back. I'm in Hampshire, and keeping my eyes peeled. I will say that I've seen your ads all over the internet – fair play to you, you're doing all you can to raise awareness. Fingers crossed for you mate.
  18. Thought there might be a few more out there. Any more?
  19. I'm interested in this cross, or one with whippet blood on either side eg saluki/whip x collie/grey, saluki/grey x collie/whip Does anyone run 'em? If so how are they and can I see some pics please? Thanks.
  20. Not all dogs will chase a lure, but most will. I'm going to take my whippet lure coursing over the summer, and most of the meetings have lurcher stakes too. Don't see what's wrong with it personally – it keeps the dogs fit and they enjoy it. Plus the social side is good.
