    Hi all, Does anyone have any info on pigeon racing in Manchester? I have a 8ftsq enclosed aviary/shed I have used for canaries last year and would like to get into racing pigeons. The things I am struggling with are, Loft setup Could I keep a small team of birds in the size above? Clocks rings etc Cost

    I got a full river/all rounder kit with quiver rod, float rod, seat box, reel loads of terminal tackle in a tackle box, umbrella, landing net. plenty of river floats and feeders too. im in Manchester if you fancy a look. not used it in nearly 2 years since my daughter was born. £100 the lot. also got a full fly fishing kit advertised already on here which is suited to small rivers and brooks pm if interested.

    Line is a WF but it is on the reel. I would rather not split and prefer it to go as complete. flies I have are mostly dries to match rivers. sedge, duns, hawthorn, olives, f-fly etc. sizes down to 18. I have about 30-40 nymphs GRHE, pheasant tails etc and a handful of buggers for stripping in the flows.

    been once. don't use red diesel or go in any dodgy vehicle police pull you 10 miles before you get to Appleby. same with smashed up dogs or birds not ringed up etc. all legal hope this helps

    i am thinking 1 pair of finches and 1 pair of canaries. that leaves me a treble empty and the flight empty which will do for any young i may have (wishful thinking lol) next year.in the flight could i keep quails in tthe bottom or is it not big enough?

    hi lads, i started my room this weekend. i have a treble breeder which is 50"x22"x15" , 2 double breeders normal size and i have built a small flight inside my shed which is 4ftLx4ftH x15"D. i have just got to make a door for the flight and a door for the treble and they are completed. in the flight how many birds would i safely keep in there without overcrowding issues. i am wanting to start with only a couple of pairs and i built the flight for any young i may have next year.i plan on breeding mules so finches and canaries will be my birds of choice.

    maybe a silly question but im a beginner. why do we have to ring canaries? i thought we only had to ring native birds to prove they are not taken from the wild

    i have got 2 double cages 1 treble cages and i am in the middle of building a 6ft(W)x4ft(H) x2ft (D) indoor flight so i think i am good to go.

    my bird room is a t&g shed. will i not need to insulate any of the inside at all? i was thinking bubble wrap on the inside and batten the walls of the shed and then screw my boxes to the battens what do you think?

    insulating for winter. i know its early but if i do it now i dont have to worry about it come winter. i plan on keeping goldfinches and canaries would these be hardy or not? i thought about carpet underlay or travel blankets/dust sheets to stop the drafts any sugestions?

    Do any of you know where to see or download plans for double breeder cages? I am after knitting out my shed with a few to start with so everything is in place so I can have a good go next year. I have access to most power tools just need the dimensions Cheers

    Will defo take you up on that. I have been looking and I would like a goldfinch pair, a Greenfinch pair and then some canaries. Does this sound like a plan to start with?
