  2. he made it take a look http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...showtopic=89696 where you from mate. i am making another to sell but will only do face to face when to to make sure the buyer is happy when done.
  3. good going mate. squirrels a bit scarce on my shoot but got some lovely roost shooting and some of it is too close to houses for shotties so airgun only but i starting to prefer that now. and this winter been more productive than decoying . yes i did make the stock as verminator said, nearly finished second one for my mate, turned out much better than my one, will post some pics of it before next weekend .
  4. your right there mate. they are my fav quarry though. not had much luck at all this winter with shotties. well done ta ya mate. that was a good bag . bet you well chuffed .
  5. looks good idea mate. well done. you got me thinking now if i could make one with poles attatched all around with net for roost shooting. looks well comfy
  6. thanks lads. anyone else do a lot of roost shooting. i just love it. me fav shooting of all
  7. went out again today for 3 hours to me fav sitty tree,s with my s410 and new custom stock and bagged 10 today all head neck shots, had 5 yesterday. new stock is certainly working ok for me . me mate bagged 2 on otherside of wood where we were, he reckons he might do better when i have finished his new stock. good afternoon,s shooting. 1 picture from my hide and end result. i enjoy this more than decoying with shotguns. going after the rabbits this week, hopefully have same results.
  8. well me mate was well impressed this morning so he is treating me by taking me and me son to the game fair at detling next weekend, should be good day out. took stock no 1 out for first proper shoot today at me fav sitty tree,s and knocked of 5 pigeons all head shots ranging from 15 to 30 yards, (grim knows the place) so i think i can now say it has passed the field trial, very comfy and easy to handle, well pleased but i am gonna add a cap on the bottom of the grips where i keep knocking it to give it a bit of protection. nice having a day out shooting instead of rubbing wood down, it much mo
  9. Me too Midge mate, me too - if he isn't suitably impressed, give me a bell and I'll be round to sort him out for ya bud! LOL I have told you before, and i'll say it again - good job matey! 10. thanks air gunner. me mate not seen this yet. he coming tomorrow. think he will be surprised .
  11. cheers verminator. dunno about making em for living. me hands are red rore from rubbing down and you would never get the money to componsate the time it takes. i will make a couple ta sell on and see how it goes. nearly finished me mates stock with prob just an hour or so rubbing down left and then it,s ready for oiling. another couple a pics i took after making the butt pad today. not sure if i should add a maple spacer inbetween. any suggestions
  12. i have only tried the walnut although i have obtained some samples of about 7 differant hardwoods , not gun blank size just small bits to see how i get on . i have hopefully got a nice piece of a wood called zebrano coming soon , it is like a maple with the grain running through it very dark like walnut and i might try to make a stock from this. there is also english walnut , english and american maple although these are very light in colour. tulip is another i think would make a nice air rifle stock but i think i prefer the american walnut, you cant realy see it that clearly but i have tipped
  13. thanks terry. as you say i have found something i seem to be good at and i do enjoy making these, think my mates one will be better than mine so i might have to do another , lol . mind you my hands are getting a bit sore and rough , well so my good lady told me , ha ha . will keep ya posted, just started rubbing me mates one down now so should not be long before oiling, will see if i can get a couple a descent pics up before and after . thanks again to everone for good comments
  14. thanks david, i not just posted ta slate the bloke off but i think forums like this need people ta post about rip off merchants, if not how many other people will be ripped off .
  15. Can just say this bloke custom make things mostly, what you pay for is handmade in his workshop don't slag him off. shop around... or ask on this helpfull forum? i can tell ya what my mate brough was not custom made or made in his workshop. off the shelf item about 3 time dearer than the going rate. i would of asked on here but my mate not knowing thought mr tr was helping him , not ripping him of cause he did not know a lot about the price of these things. could say its like sending your good lady to take the car for mot, would you be happy if they charged her £150 , . i would of too
  16. sure have, i hate seeing people ripped off and taken advantage of. i,m not normally one ta slate people but this was a blatant ripp off .
  17. t r robb told my mate he has them specially made for him, my mate not knowing believed him. this man is a complete ripp off merchant and a liar. well annoyed i hate seeing people ripped off and people like t r robb taking advantage of people like my mate. he owns a shop and should be helping people not ripping them off
  18. thought i would put a post on here . my mat wanted a Filling Adapter ( Brass Filling Snap Connector) for older Air Arms S410 and he went over to tr robb in essex. i could not go with him as i was busy doing other thing and my mate not knowing a lot about the price of things with air rifles was ripped off. so i believe . t r robb charged him £30 for one of these and i have seen them in several places for between 8 and 13 . i would say this man is a complete rip off merchant. bloody airgun expert it says outside his shop. more like rip off expert. anyone else been ripped off by him
  19. well under way with stock no2. doing this one for me mates s410 . black american walnut skeleton stock with american maple spacers and tipped with iroko. this one should look lovely when done. will put more pics when nearer done. loads a rubbing down ta do yet . the first stock is lovely ta shoot. well balanced turned out lovely . heres a few pics of the one i,m doing for me mate

  21. selling this on here for a good friend. it is a hw95, has a couple of small scratches on stock . apart from this it is immaculate condition, never been tampared . all original. he is asking for £170 face to face only . please let me know if u think this is too much. pm me if interested, thanks £170.00 gravesend , kent 22 calibre
  22. got a bit of a deal on the wood, wont say how much as i dont like ta upset anyone, lol . but the going rate is around £50 for a piece of walnut around my parts , that,s if you can find a nice piece.. i used a bit a half inch ply as a template and made it so as i could move the cheek piece around and the same with the grip and thumbhole so i knew it would work once done
  23. tools i used were router, dremel, hand plane , jigsaw , spokeshave, various rasps and files and a set of rifflers, like small rasps and a pillar drill. basic tools realy, just gotta think about what you doing and dont go mad,
