Hi Jamie, As Rob says, they won't mind one bit. There will be lads up there every Sunday. Well worth popping up there! Mikey.

Hi Jamie, There is a fantastic club up your way just outside Bolton, at Turton called Rivington Riflemen. http://www.rivington-riflemen.org/ Some top lads and some of the best shots in the country. Very friendly and only to happy to help with advice etc. Im not a member but have shot many comps there. Kind Regards, Mikey.

Not sure on the HW's. Have fitted one to my MKII TX200 and that was a doddle and I'm one of the least mechanically minded blokes going!! I found the instructions simple to follow. Regarding the performance I dont think you will be dissapointed! Look forward to seeing your thread! Mikey.

Hi Jim, Depends how much you want to splash out mate. There are a few outstanding craftsmen out there, and the price usually reflects that. I owned a Ginb stock on my TX200 and found it absolutely fantastic. http://www.ginb.it/s...p?lang=en&id=13 If I remember these are the best part of £300 so not cheap. Best off finding someone who does it as a hobby and sells them on! Regards, Mikey.

I have recently purchased a Hornet single shot which has the same cocking system. Thought I would find loading it a royal pain in the arse, but dont mind it to be honest. Must say for £250 its a lot of rifle for the money! Its regged, a pleasure to shoot, and is pellet on pellet now its had a good pull through! Looking forward to getting out with it! I have also a custom made stock coming for it so will get a few pics up for you lot to droole over when its here!! Mikey.

Hi Villaman, I have had my S400 HFT rifle regged. It was perfectly consistant and accurate before, the reason I had it regged was to get rid of the powercurve and increase usable shot count. . I just wanted the POI to be the same on shot 1 as it would be on shot which it now is! Its an awesome rifle, literally pellet on pellet at 25yds and prob further. The s400 is the joint most accurate rifle I have owned / own, I have a Steyr LG100, they seem to be on a par! The down side is cost. If you had the work done and decided to sell the rifle on eventually, you wouldnt come close to reco

Hi Mate, I see from your thread you may be interested in an R10. I have one for sale its a belter and customoised a lot. It has been tuned by Tench so extremely reliable, cover on the buddy bottle, adjustable cheek piece, and a silencer. Could include a rifle slip and mil-dot scope for £550. Im not far from Manchester so meeting up wouuldnt be a problem. Mikey.

washing and lubeing pellets?
mikeyblue replied to Skot Ruthless Teale's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I can't dismiss it out of hand because I have no personal evidence that it works/does not work but I respect others choice to use it if it gives them confidence. I have never cleaned a barrell (airgun) properly in 40 years of shooting. I rely totally on the skills I have picked up in that time and I just need to reduce the things I have to worry about before going into competition. I started HFT shooting in January and if I listened to everyone who provides an opinion on what's right or wrong I would never pick up a gun for fear of something going wrong. Thats the good thing about club -
washing and lubeing pellets?
mikeyblue replied to Skot Ruthless Teale's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Hi Si, When I brought my current batch of JSB's I weighed a tin of pellets and they ranged from 8.2gn to 8.6gn. I shot a ten shot group of five of the lighter and five of the heavier. It was at 45yds, I cant remember the group size but it wasnt noticeably distinguishable from the others! Maybe if it was increased to 55yds it would probably open up. As I shoot HFT, 45yds is the max I shoot out to. Each to their own I guess!! Mikey. -
washing and lubeing pellets?
mikeyblue replied to Skot Ruthless Teale's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Hi Skot, I do a lot of competition shooting and mainly shoot straight from the tin. Dont get me wrong many wash, lube, weigh size etc, but I am more than happy with my groupings at full distance. I shoot 30 pellets in a comp and just give them a damned good looking at! Check for skirt and head damage. If im not happy it gets binned. Im pretty sure if I miss its down to me and not my equipment (unfortunately no excuses to fall back on!). Kindest Regards, Mikey. -
Hi Paul, Some manufacturers leave a film of oil, or light grease in the bore. I presume this is to stop any corrosion etc whilst sat on the shelf. Could be worth pulling it through,or firing a few felt pellets through it until the felts or patch come out clean. A handy tip is use Swan Slimline Cigarette Filters instead of felt pellets! Hope this helps! Mikey.

Cheers for the kind comments lads! I would love to come over Si but sadly I have another comp on that day. Gutted as Nottingham is not to far for me, and would be good to meet up with the lads off here. Deffinately next time. Hope a good time is had by all. Kindest Regards, Mikey.

Hi All, Not hunting related but I thought I waould share anyways! As I mentioned over the weekend I took part in a National HFT comp over the weekend. Last week I spent a lot of time preparing my kit and my technique. Testing pellets, plotting trajectory, practicing in wind and come Sunday it payed off for me. The countrys best shots were in attendance and as I shot in the second session, I heard talk of a few 59 out of 60s coming in from the first session. I started off hitting the longer ones, missed my fourth target, watched the pellet strike low, damn I thought it was 35yds

Hi Tony, His work is top notch mate, and a top bloke as well. Couldn't reccomend him highly enough!! Kindest Regards, Mikey.

Hi Rob, Its called a Moderipper. Its an Airstripper built into a silencer. Its designed to take away the turbulent air from the muzzle so the pellet is more stable in flight. Works wonders and increases BC. Its made by a bloke called Neil Price (UK Neil). Top bit of kit! Mikey.
-
Hi Rob, It currently has an Air Stripper on, and the placing of the barrel band would make it a royal pain in the arse to put a silencer on. Im not to worried to be fair as this is the first and probably only time its been out hunting with me. My hunting outfit is a R10, tuned by Tench, adjustable cheek piece fitted and a custom Moder-ripper silencer. It is a very formidable rifle and if I do my bit fills the game bag each outing!! Kindest Regards, Mikey.

Cheers Lads, Not my normal hunting outfit! Its a tuned, (then tuned a little more), AA S400. Its a pleasure to shoot and if I do my bit it will print 5p sized groups at 55yds. Saying that I did miss my R10 today, which is whisper quiet. If I had that with me today could of bagged more, but as the S400 sounds like The Appocalypse i reckon one shot pretty much cleared the permission Thanks for reading lads, Mikey.

Hi All, Finished at lunch time today to get out with my HFT rig and check zero and aim points ready for a big comp this weekend. Had an hour in a long barn on one of my permissions going from 8 -45yds just checking all my aim points, and doing some grouping at 55yds just to hone technique and trigger control. I wasnt intending doing any hunting so left my R10 at home. But a phone call from Our Lass telling me she didnt need picking up gave me an extra hour out so thought I would have a mooch around. Unfortunately the S400GML goes off with a very loud crack, so the plan was to bag just

Trouble with my air ranger.
mikeyblue replied to Snifferboy's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Hi Sniffer, Yeah clean the barrel. I brought my R10 secondhand, and was all excited only to fing it was grouping like a shotgun. I pulled it through and the barrel was mingin, could of grown potatoes in it! Re-leaded the barrel with about 50 shots and it was printing fantastic groups. I now clean the barrel when I can see the groups opening slightly. Im almost certain a clean barrel and some JSB Exacts, and your rifle will be pellet on pellet mate. Failing that try the single shot tray instead of the mag. If your mag isnt indexing properly it may be damaging the pellet causing it to no -
Trouble with my air ranger.
mikeyblue replied to Snifferboy's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Hi Sniffer, As you have brought it second hand I would give the barrel a good pull through just as a piece of mind. Thing with Bis Mags they are quite a long pellet and may be getting damaged as the mag cycles. I used to have a Daystate MK3 .177 (same barrel as Air Ranger) and it loved JSB Exact 8.4gn 4.52. Pellet on pellet all day long. Hope this helps. Mikey. -
My Next Purchase...You Decide!
mikeyblue replied to milegajo's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Hi Mate, Been reading your posts and blog and must say, Im very envious of your lifestyle! Because of your lifestyle the rifle you choose I would say is pretty important! My advice would be something you could service or repair yourself to save on costs. Also a pump to save on messing with a bottle. If I was in your situation my choice would be an AAS410 Classic in .177. Super accurate, decent shot count, simple to work on with plenty of online strip guides, and very reliable! After an outing a quick wipe down with a bit of 3-in-1 and will see you many problem free years of putting mea
