I have a pond on my small family pheasant shoot and I have a few duck still left, I am regularly feeding them but I just wondered whether its possible to encourage them to lay on the island in the middle of the pond rather than around the side in some thick cover where they spend the majority of their time. Has anyone had success with some sort of nesting boxes or artificial nests?

I have a howa 1500 stainless, black hogue stock with wildcat mod in .223. I've only had it a few months but I cant fault it, very impressed with its 'out of the box' accuracy with mine shooting inch groups at 150 with remmy accu tips 55gr. Im not sure about the owners on here but I dont think there's a better rifle vaule for your money wise.

This might be a really simple but stupid question but do laser rangefinders work in the dark used with lamp light, i.e could it tell you a foxes distance while its in the beam from your lamp?

Just looking around on the internet for a new battery for lamping with the rifle. I need one with a good long lasting charge, im using a lightforce striker lamp with it. There seems to be tonnes to choose from, has anyone got any recommendations? I was told when I bought my first sound moderator the Wildcat Pred 8 that it can be universal; Its currently machined to fit my .223, but is it possible to have parts machined so it can also be used on my .243 and/or .308? If so, is it a costly process?

only seen odd birds on my shoot, not as many as last season by far. There was one shot 2 weeks ago by one of our guns, it had a leg ring which had been done by the Riksmuseum, Stockholm

Ive just recently bought a howa 1500 stainless, my gunshop only had limited .223 ammunition at the time, from what I bought, the Remington premier Accutip were the best 55gr, I've shot very good groups at 150m with this ammo; Im not saying these are the best of all ammunition available, just my preference, like others have said just try a variety of makes and weights!

Im looking to further my stalking by going after some new species, I've already shot roe on my own land, and reds in scotland but I would like to now stalk sika, fallow and muntjac; Where I live (S.Cumbria) I only get Roe, so Im going to have to travel to stalk the other 3 Im after. Can anyone recommend anywhere which I could shoot sika, fallow and muntjac. Im looking to shoot them over a large period of time but any help would be brilliant.

Hi the everyone, just joined! I do alot of shooting, deer stalking, foxing, wildfowling, lamping aswell as being a partime keeper on my small family pheasant shoot. Great site by the way!
