  1. Have you tested the quadpod or is this just your experience of using sticks in general? I have no problems using a bipod or single style sticks and have shot plenty of deer/foxes and rabbits with a variety of calibres at ranges sensible ranges, but with this quadpod your supposed to be able to shoot extremely accurately up to 150m stood up. Im curious and I want to test it out myself on some paper. Anyone with a legal mind.....? Before I actually have ago at making my own set, Im not breaking any copyright laws by doing this am I? they will be soley for my own use. Cheers, Woolly
  2. Im going to give it ago anyway, I like the fact they double as a bipod and quadpod, plus you can use them sat down. Im going to my local builders merchants and try make them tomorrow, I'll post the final product!
  3. In this months Sporting Gun, there's a stalking article where the stalker is using a newish product, the quadpod sticks. Does anyone on here own a set or used them, if so, how thicks the dowelling? They look brilliant but at £69.00 plus £11.50 p+p! i reckon I could make something similar for alot less. Cheers
  4. With the Sporting Rifle it doesnt give a date (Or I just cant find it) , it just gives a brief description of whats in the next months mag.
  5. Does anybody know when the dates the Sporting Rifle and Sporting Shooter go on sale each month? Is it the same date each month? I keep meaning to apply for subscription as its far easier, but never get round to it. Cheers, Woolly
  6. cheers fellas, I'll let you know which one/s I decide to buy.
  7. I like the fact that the wildcat mods are totally strippable, very easy to take to pieces and clean. How many of the above mentioned are fully strippable? If they arent, whats the life expectancy of a sealed unit?
  8. I've had good success with the fox call uk; its handy because you can hold it in your mouth while mounting a rifle/shotgun. You can vary the pitch by biting harder or softer on the call, Its not going to break the bank an £11 either.
  9. Is it the same tube but with 3 different baffle kits or have you 3 separate mods? Do you know how much different the compact p8 is to the standard p8 in terms of sound reduction Deker?
  10. Im looking at putting a moderator on my .243 and .308 and wondered whats the most popular for these bigger calibres from you folks on here; I already have a wildcat p8 on my .223 and am very impressed with it but I've never heard or used any other type so have nothing to compare it with. From the reviews i've read the Reflex T8 has always been the one that set the standards and now the wildcat has been made in direct rivalry with it. But what about the muzzle cans and the like of the PES T12 Scout? Im after the one thats going to give me the best possible sound reduction for both my bigger rif
  11. Cant remember the name, its near Horncastle.
  12. Havent been on the site but theres an ad in the sporting rifle magazine. Not sure if it'll help. http://www.rimfiremagic.co.uk/
  13. I use the 55gr remmy accutips through my 223 howa, they are very accurate and quite well priced for 'premium' ammunition, got mine for £16 per box. Ran out of them at the mo and local FD didnt have any left so bought some Feds 40GR ballistic tips, havent yet tried them on old foxy yet
  14. Finally booked my trip, changed my mind from the original plan and Im now doing a combined hunt for fallow and munty bucks on an estate in Lincolnshire. The bloke I've booked it through seems a real genuine fella so cant wait to get down there and get some stalking done. Hopefully it'll be a birthday to remember. Just a shame its such a long time away, excited already!
  15. Here's a good review shooting times did last year, hope this helps. http://www.shootingtimes.co.uk/guns/253448...moderators.html
  16. Dont have a CZ but I've got a 223 howa fitted with a wildcat pred 8 its got good sound reduction and its fully strippable so its really easy to clean.
  17. Where abouts in the NW are they based do you know?
  18. Is the green barrel/mounts and mod a self done jobby or was it a bought custon job. I've got a black stock with stainless finish on my 223, been thinking about changing it if possible
  19. whats the rifle setup mate, really like the oversized bolt. good shooting!
  20. The muntys havent quite got near me yet so going to Suffolk to try bag a few (hopefully!).
  21. Just in the process of booking a stalking holiday for my 21st birthday next march (A long time away I know, but I wanna make sure I get the dates I'd like) decided to try tick another of the deer species off my list so I'm going munty stalking for 3-4 days. Never stalked these little deer before so what can I expect? Im going to be using my .243 with 100gr ammo will this be suitable or do I need lighter grain bullets? Woollyback
  22. I've had my FAC 3years now, and when I filled my form in for the grant I put down .22rf and .243 under the purchase/aquire section. About a year ago I applied for a variation for a .223 with mod and a .308 and was accepted. My question is: When you fill in your initail grant form whats the most amount of different calibres your allowed, or is there no limit? Do different constabularies have seperate views on the matter? My cousin is wanting to apply for the same calibres as myself, 22, 223, 243 and 308 is that likely to pass? woollyback
  23. My comment earlier was incorrect, the scope 'beno' is looking at from sportsman gun centre does have the IR feature. I thought it was a mis print in the mag and when my scope arrived it didnt had the IR but Ive contacted them and sportsman gun centre sent me one without IR. sorry for the confusion
  24. The bushnell banner 6-18x50 scope on offer from sportsman gun centre hasnt got the illuminated reticle although it does say when advertised in the monthlys and ST. I've just bought one myself recently but am impressed with it so far.
