  3. I bought a slab of these with the hope of using them up on a keepers day this weekend but didn't quite use them all so I have 7 brand new, unopened boxes left (175 cartridges). I do not do any pigeon shooting so these will just end up in storage until next season but I'd rather just get rid of them. 14. Sorry, Didnt make myself clear enough on my last post, I too skin the head, scrape off as much meat as poss, then do my chosen cut then boil. sorry for the confusion
  15. Have a look at this mate. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...leaching+skulls I personally boil the head in water with a dash of washing powder for around 20mins, then scrape off all of the meat with a blunt knife (thin nosed pliers are useful too) once clean I paint on hydrogen peroxide cream then wrap in cling film and leave it overnight, wash the skull off next morning then its ready for the wall.
  16. I have both a 243 and 308, originally I just had the 243 but because I wanted to shoot larger deer and boar I bought a 308, I can honestly say the 308 does less meat damage than the lighter 243. Dont get me wrong, the 243 is a brilliant calibre but if I were getting a rifle soley for deer with the intention of shooting red to munty and everything in between Id use a 308.
