  2. Ive a whippet that has done a bit (16 month) on the lamp and day time never a peep, BUT if put with a lucher/geryhound starts to sound.It fustration that it cant get there. So all I did is train the dog to take what its slipped on single no problem. As has been said before the dog is only as good as its training, no matter what breed you have. ATB John
  3. Make a lure(with a rabbit skin) and start draging it past the dog, let it chase and catch. Then do it again, dont get me wrong it wont happen frist/second,third time but patiants(spelling) will pay off.Atb John.Let us know how you go

  17. I did have a full weeks work but one of the jobs has grown and had to be put off till Mon/Tues. (YES) So I'm going ferreting. Hopefully I can find somewhere which hasnt been flooded. Anyway Out is Out better than work.ATB John
  18. I've got to say you'll not go far wrong with a whippet, I have one for ferreting and lamping (hes only 14months) and hes coming on a treat. I,ve seen collie x's ferreting and on the lamp and these are good but as far as it goes for a ferreting dog I'd go for a whippet. ATB and good luck John
