    ​cheers Gaz, I hope all goes well in the future for the pup, if I felt mine weren't good enough to breed from I would have no hesitation in not breeding from them, but as I say I can't fault them so far, cheers

    ​some good advice from all thanks, I've always had it in my mind around 4 years old, my bitch is 3 now and dog 2 so another two year I reckon, as I say my dogs do me proud and if they carry on the way they have bin for the next few year I would be stupid not to breed them, none of them come from lines as I have never bin bothered about names tbh, I feel if you put the time in and put game in front of the dog it clicks with most of them, the bitch I got I use alot for rabbits, cracking on the lamp done good numbers, good ferreting bitch knows the game, and caught herself a fair few big rabbits,

    I'm in no rush as I say, but will defo be breeding from my own stock when the times right, they do me proud and have accounted for plenty of gear over the past few years, plenty vids of them on YouTube, as I say it is food for thought, I always have it in the back of my mind that death is only one slip away and I would be gutted to of not got the chance to breed from them, I have a seven year old dog who lives the life on the sofa as he broke his leg around the age of 4, will never run again which is a shame as he bin pretty depressed ever since just not the same in himself, cheers for the re

    What age do you lads reckon lurchers are old enough to breed from? With all the risks of lifelong injuries even death gets me thinking what age I shall breed my pair, not in no rush just food for thought, cheers

    Well done mate sounds like you done well given the disturbance, me an rew went out last night drove about 45 mins to a spot to get hit with thick fog and couldn't see through it at all so after abit of waiting around went home as it was not lifting, good luck with pup, atb

    Had a mooch today with my young ferret kit and her mum, I took my lurcher duke and rew came along with his pup bud, we had a good few runs and some good catches with duke all in view for the up n coming pup, one run in particular was a good course, the rabbits was snaking down a dirt track with duke hot on its heels, the rabbit was squealing before he took aim and striked with a good catch, I was impressed with the kit I bred she was working the sets well, even remaining attached to a bolting rabbit for a few seconds lol, all in all was good fun and the younguns enjoyed it

    Had a decent night last night, took my lass, I also took a mate and his young whippet to get them some sport,, had some good runs and catches,, the whippet performed well doing his owner pound catching 18 which is her best score on the lamp so far, I just took it steady with lass giving her challenging slips, one which she had to go over the wall to the other side of the field and perused and caught her rabbit and retrieved back to me across the field and over the wall,, I enjoy the retreive as much as the catch me, I ended on a steady 19 for lass,, thanks for looking

    Some experience that :thumbs:Lol I'm classed as todays youth being 22 and I struggled with them at first, I reckon I was born into the wrong generation anyway lol ​
