When i spoke to the police, they said all dogs handed in go to the same kennel (one in mauchline). And it is unlikely it is at any other kennel. I have been phoning round them all in the yellow pages, as well as police and sspca etc. I am almost certain he has been lifted. FTB

Probably scraggly as its a sooked vixen and has been rearing cubs, but hey each to their own if needs must.

Unreal. If you really care for the dog, and your child is allergic, kennel it outdoors. Alternatively, if you are a numpty peddler, like 90% of us think, shift it on to someone else or get someone to cull it. Really feel sorry for the dog, they didnt ask for this, and they certainly dont deserve it. You should be ashamed of yourself.

''Let them march it wont change the governments policy in Iraq or Afghanistan the soldiers will do what the government tell them ,legalised killing in the name of freedom my arse'' No feckin way! If they want the privelage of living here they should abide by our rules, if not they can feck off back home and march in the shitty backstreets of some third world hell hole. I have never had truly racist opinions but this boils my piss. Im voting BNP. Sandal wearing piss stains.

There is a difference between a dog coming off, and a dog jacking. Ive had terriers come out gasping for air, only to bolt back to ground and finnish the job. Only last week my russel bitch was in a very tight clay drain pipe that runs under a railway line, had been under for 2 hours taking some stick and getting nowhere. She surfaced, crossed the line and dropped in the pipe from the other side and swiftly bolted the fox into the net. In some situations a dog cannot be expected to stay to ground indeffinately. It takes a smart dog to work some situations well.

Are the batts deffinately in the right way? It is easily done

Gamekeeping assistant ?

Good advice foxdropper. Its advice like this the young lads need. Anything you can put on your CV that makes the big man look twice can only be a good thing. -
Gamekeeping assistant ?
FightTheBan replied to jackdean1230's topic in Gamekeeping, Conservation & Shoot Management
I would say wise. The more connected you are with actual keepering work, the more experience you will gain and inevitably increase your chance of a job afterwards. Just a college qualification isnt enough in this current economic climate, you must have skills that separate you from the crowd. FTB -
I have already put a post in the terrier section, but i thought id put one hera aswell. Small, muscular wire haired red lakeland terrier dog, about 2 year old and answers to the name SUMO. Went missing on christmas eve. Has not been seen since, no sign of break in to kennel and another terrier in the kennel at the time is still there (although theft is not being ruled out). The dog was in Stewarton, east ayrshire, central scotland. Any help much appreciated, contact me through PM. FTB

The only people who should be worried are those who post about illegal stuff, and they are the types who will inevitably got done some day anyway. FTB

Have phoned all the local police stations, SSPCA, dog warden and kennels in the area and nothing matching the description has been handed in. Have come to the conclusion that he was either lifted from the kennel or lifted off the street. I will keep looking and keep my ear to the ground, but what a horrid thing to do on christmas day, shocking. He will have been pinpointed as he is a right good looker for the showing (doesnt interest me in the sligtest). The dog doesnt belong to me, i only work it as much as i can for a very good friend. Thanks to all the support and please dont

Deben mk3 Terrier locator (long range)
FightTheBan replied to Simpson10's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
I use the mk3 ferret finder, and rate it highly. Cant comment on the long range terrier finder, but it shoud be spot on. I would take peoples comments with a pinch of salt, as some dont rate the MK3 highly. Hope you are pleased with it mate, i have no complaints with my ferret one, Cheers FTB. -
Just writing to ask anyone in the ayrshire area and further to please look out for a red lakeland dog. He was last seen in his kennel on Christmas eve, possibility he jumped out, or was lifted, we dont know yet. He is 2 years old, answers to the name SUMO, and has a very distinguishable coat (very tough wire haired). We think he escaped and has been picked up, as there was a russel dog in the kennel also who is still here. The police have been informed but have had nothing handed in. He is short coupled, very muscular boxy shape, unmistakeably a working terrier. Any help very much appre

top dogs like golly arthur and bud
FightTheBan replied to bobhunter's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
''iv seen arthur work not a bad animal at all but not in gollys league'' Now why would you say that, i wonder? Oh aye, because you have been studding him to every tom, dick and harry for years to line your pockets. If i never hear the word golly on an internet thread again, it will be too soon. -
Always trust your terrier. Untill it lets you down, then consider your options. If there is no trust, you dont have a partnership.

Got the barryvox pulse kit off bryan froM this site for christmas. Been out for three days with my brother since then accounting for 4 foxes. I find it a great bit of kit (so far, cant really give an acurate judgement after just 4 days). The locator is far superior to bellman an flints,TECHNOLOGY WISE, and a much more rugged box / coller combination (in my opinion, no doubt someone will disagree). The location is faster, and more sensitive to movement. (when i used the bellman, you turned it on when you entered the dog, so it had time to adjust. Whereas with the barryvox you turn it on once t

''Is she usually quite assertive with the other 9? (I'm assuming they're all jills?) '' I think she has tried it previous, but my other jills can handle them, selves, so i think she has resorted to picking on the wee one. All of them are jills, and 1 hob.

Any terrier that is worked consistently will get marked. I have a russell bitch that is a out and out bayer, but she still gets marked. If it is not being marked at all, it is too far away from the sharp end, which may be ok in your situation, i cant really comment.

top dogs like golly arthur and bud
FightTheBan replied to bobhunter's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
''these dogs cant be that good then nobody seems 2 no alot about them '' That dont mean shit mate, in fact i would stay clear of a name thats thrown about all over the internet, claiming to be worldbeaters. Its the good dog men that keep their stuff close to home, between select friends that im interested in and who have decent stock. Because to a good dogman, dogs and keeping his own lines strong are more important than notes. Just my opinion though, im sure some will disagree. -
