  1. Yes what stubby said is spot on we added 2 kitts to our team last year and we gave them a little try at the end of last season although they had a look down the holes they also did exaxctly what you explained playing around in the hole entrance and dancing around etc this year one we put them down with experienced jills and in one burrie alone they bolted 5 rabbits between them they now know what the game is about DONT ever grab at them let them come out in there own time if you have a dead rabbit you can use this by wiggling it infront of them and let them rag it a bit it will take a bit of
  2. Just out of intrest how much did you pay for it? Ive got a dog guard for Disco TDI that I dont need and wondered what I would get for it on flea bay £50 inc the postage you can buy a new one for £85
  3. some of our permissions are horse liverys we personaly dont charge but if you are thinking of charging do it for the minimum cost you can because as already stated sell yourself as a gardener/fencer etc you will proberly get work from it and dont forget normaly people with horse stables/liverys/and paddocks know other people with the likes and word of mouth of someone who ferrets fences and gardens and does it at a good price travels fast in the horse world
  4. Hi mate as i said your welcome round anytime
  5. I get round that by only feeding in the evening and judging the amount I chuck in with them. we do the same if we are going to give them fur or feather in the summer do it at night then take the carcass out in the morning otherwise we give the dry ferret food untill the flies are finished for the winter
  6. We went out yesterday got a good bag of 18 rabbits missed 4 but although there was no hang ups or digging the rabbits were doing a lot of hole hopping and didnt seem to want to break the burries but eventualy the ferrets pushed them into the purse and trammel nets we had a bit of luck also that when we had finished and paunched the last rabbit the 1st drop of rain hit the 4x4 window screen and it pi**ed down for hours afterwards the young jack russell (ted) also behaved himself again all in all not a bad day
  7. jbs nets or kp&s nets both sell them or the other alternative is take a big pair of loopers and cut yourself some straight hazel sticks thats assuming you want the stakes for a traditional longnet and not a quickset one
  8. Must admit mate we have never bothered with cropping pigeons never had any probs with the ferrets but thats an intresting one
  9. I thought ben mitchell was supposed to be in borstal for beating up jordan whats he doing out ferreting LOL looks like you had a good day great pics well done lads

  17. We always feed as normal the night before its always works fine for us and the ferrets work well
  18. As longnetter says mate we make all own nets and have found nigel at agouti to be by far the best for price /fast delivery/and helpfullness also we always use spun poly its easy to see handles like hemp and it doesnt rot thats not saying hemp is not good cos it is but personaly think poly has the edge Good luck with the net making mate whatever material you decide to use
  19. Better luck next time sean wont be much longer now and the wasps will be finished for this year
  20. Thanks mate its funny how dogs are like humans in the sense they have different presonalitys ted is easy to deal with and he is very calm yet my last jack russell whos name was george was a nightmare he was into everything and i had to keep my eyes on him constantly and i normaly had a sore throat at the end of the day screaming at him to come back or leave it alone etc he died of old age bless him and i still miss him like mad but i must say he gave me a few grey hairs before he went LOL
  21. As kay said when our 10 are on dry food they can crap for england too and it stinks a lot more then when on fur and feather as well
