    Dead rabbits in a bury doesn't seem to make any difference mate take the amount of rabbits with mixy that die down the holes also the ones that get wounded when shot at and die underground the burys are still full of rabbits again come the spring

    Them bisley things should be renamed grisley they are are a complete load of cr*p how they have got the front to charge people for them i will never know they prey on newbies who are just starting up or re starting up with offers of cheap nets they are cheap for one reason only and thats cos there sh*t either get yourself some new or secondhand poly nets or at the least 10z nylon nets from netrigger mate you wont regret it good luck and throw them shi*ty grisley things back at them

    We keep a spare couple of bottles and if the ones in the court are frozen in the morning we just change them for fresh ones if its really bitter cold check them a couple of times through the day Also keep the sleeping compartments stuffed full of shredded paper in the winter as the one said its heat that kills ferrets not the cold as long as there conditions are dry and they have plenty of warm bedding they will be fine

    Nice bag of rabbits there good to hear the young ferrets coming on well looks like it has the making of a good little future worker And skinning all 11 rabbits after the lads tea he's fitter than me i normaly crash out after a days ferreting and do em the next day well done mate

    All our nets are handmade bright spun poly 4ft long by 18 meshes wide we also prefere 3mm drawcord to the 2mm and all fitted with metal pegs we find these nets cover anysize hole the and the metal pegs go into any type of ground quite easy they catch rabbits very well its personal prefrence

    Been in the national gamekeepers organisation since it was formed and the basc before that it's £30 a year for ten million liability insurance this covers you for all field sports inc ferreting we shoot on all our permissions and to be honest would never shoot without insurance it only takes 1 richochet off a flint in the ground etc a freak accident and someone could get seriously injured or killed so £30 is a very small price to pay for peace of mind you know the saying if sh*t can happen it will

    We use a mk 3 most of the time but to be honest i have worked ferrets for 33 yrs and never lost a ferret before i used a locator the advantages of a locator is to pinpoint where the ferrret is so its easier and quicker to dig to and you may get a few rabbits bottled up a dead end so you can move on quicker to the next bury i do find a big disagvantage with locators is the catch on purse nets but its personal choice wheather you use one or not i use one but if i didn't have one i would not overly worry about it as said never lost a ferret either way just takes longer on a kill without one

    Been making my own nets for years never seen a girl as young as 8 able to make nets well done to the young girl she's certainly got what it takes

    Not much you can do about it mate the mk 3 is the best locator around but the collars are still a bit bulky hopefully with time deben will work on reducing the size of the collars look at the size mobile phones and the likes used to be years ago

    Only use shredded paper now used to find to many ticks in straw so wouldn't use it again just personal prefrence
