  1. No ,,Mink can be massive, and feking wild b*****ds, to boot, so true they are a nasty bit of work i wouldn't fancy a ferrets chances you have to be a bit carefull ferreting near water a ferret will normaly back out the hole hissing and stinking if your lucky if your not it's good bye ferret
  2. Have encountered a few stoats over the years and the stoats always bolt they are no match for a ferret what rabbit slayer saw drag his ferret down a hole wasn't a stoat a feral ferret or mink that's is a different ball game

  7. Mixy ruined our season last year it was the worse we had seen for years hope this season isn't going the same way
  8. As said mate they drag the bedding out when they are to hot
  9. Never had ferrets with fur balls sometimes they gag a bit on fresh shavings etc when they push themselfs through it playing also had a jill once that kept coughing for a couple of days on closer examination it turned out to be a small pigeon feather stuck at the back of her throat on the roof of her mouth this was removed and she was fine have you looked in her mouth mate to see there is anything there ? if not take her to the vet good luck
  10. Disagree with this. I've regularly seen fleas on rabbits, 2-3 days later.. I just freeze them.. then feed as and when, from the freezer once defrosted. If you just throw them in fresh, keep an eye out for fleas and frontline as has been said.. totaly agree we always freeze lamped rabbits before feeding to the ferrets it kills any mites fleas etc living on the rabbits get one out the freezer the day before feeding and its defrosted ready to feed
  11. Hope he turns out a to be a good little worker for yer mate

  13. They expired at the end of may i did ring up and ask could i be sent a temp letter out and was told in a polite way we ain't got time for all that if we did that it would take even longer to get new certificates sent out
  14. What's going wrong with these firearms departments i put my firearms and shotgun certificates in for renewal with the sussex police 17 weeks ago and still haven't got them back i have phoned up twice and was told they are running late at the moment they have 12 people work in the sussex firearms dept its a fu*king joke
  15. The main factor is they are from good working stock both hobs and jills will do the job a ferrets sex is personal prefrence to each ferreter i have had good and bad of both sexes but i prefere jills because they dont seem to kill as often as hobs but in saying that when ferreting big deep chalk warrens the hobs seem to fair better Keeping a mixture of both is ideal
  16. As said mate no need to look any further there are some good netmakers on hear

  21. Not yet mate thankfully mixy compleatly wrecked our last season it was the worst season we have had for years you always get a bit of the dreaded mixy but last season it hammered most of our permissions we were getting 1 rabbit out of burys we normaly got 12 odd from most years really hopeing we don't get the same this season
  22. We do a lot of ferreting/shooting on the south downs in sussex and there are loads of warrens that stretch from the bottom to nearly to the top they are massive built in chalk and very deep we have done a few of the smaller big uns over the years but they are bloody hard work all the long and purse nets you can find 12 ferrets and they still run the ferrets round all day loads of the warrens are so big they are impossible to do anything with anyone that knows the south downs will know what i mean
