  3. Mate. Ask for a money back guarantee if paying decent dollars, there's hundreds around been great for a season then jacked, or got a battering and stopped mixing, no disrespect to lad giving trial just looking out for Yas, it's a twart when they fail.
  4. Rake I'm not arguing mate, I'm part agreeing but I know half a doz lads on here who don't come and natter mainly because of some of the crap they get, and yes there are some peddlers who don't give a crap, but I'm sure like you I don't want these genuine lads who dont breed very often and don't come on mixing it to stop using the site like a lot of good lads have, this site was mint a few year back. There's still some great lads and sure your one of them who come on with genuine comments but theres not so many, Happy hunting
  5. Good luck mate, Bad timing, they'll be one out there for sure, but a proper dog and a proper owner stay together so be careful, i gut stung a couple of years ago even after a trial, the dog jacked at 3 yr old, paid 600 squidlies.

  8. hee heee, jesus, if as much effort went into working and training half of the mongrels out there the world of dogs would be a much better place and the people who have them better thought of, give the guy a break if you don't want one fine, theres been thousands of pounds cross palms for mongrels [lurchers] hasn't there, you don't see many 650 pound pups getting handed around like most other 10 bob pups. good luck with them mate. And stranger just to put the record straight not anybody can scrape together a good stud fee, theres some good lads out there who would love to put there bitch to a

  17. Hi Mark, Thanks for your comments, I've tried in the previous statements to advocate the use of proper training at the correct intervals etc, Also all I have tried to say is use it as a correction method as a one off in situations where the person is obviously stressed with the situation and we all knows what comes next. possibly ending up with somebody like you and your team to put right. well done by the way.. Over 30 years I've come across all types of different scenarios but have always found that understanding the dog and the problem is the way to make the cure. Today I always listen an
  18. Hi Hunter. the lad who started the thread,, Listen my friend its quite clear now that you have had all different kinds of advice, I will go against all I've said in this thread try out what the wisest of the wise have said and lets see how you get on, My experience tells me you are going to struggle but I hope not and it works. Ok here goes try the 3 of 25 or whatever Mark suggests and some of the other advice and hopefully it'll do the job, If not I will personally come to you with a collar and correct it within an hour or so, and promise not to cause the dog any long standing pain or anguis
  19. Point taken Phil, however the pup was stock broken with me from 3 mths old on the farm. never bothered them or even looked at them when I was around never, even when I was away at times he never bothered, this was a case of a young dog feeling is feet and hunting up for the first time out of sight, the temptation got the better of him, Oh and please don't tell me these things don't happen because they do and more often then we care to mention, I'm sure your aware or not that dogs are queer things and can be unpredictable at any time, with respect my friend your living in an ideal world, and ba
  20. I always keep a new pup in the house for a few weeks/Month to socialise and teach him manners, then introduce him slowly to the kennel, a few hours at first then add an hour here and there till he feels happy, just remember to keep him occupied as a pup boredem can send them stir crazy its important as a pup to create a good strong bond and keep there minds occupied, they will learn when its time to rest and play. Its true what others say they are equally as good in or out the main difference being they are harder outside and get use to the elements. there is some say that a house dog gets use
  21. Here's a tried and tested way I have had to do on a few occasions, locate a decent piece of hedge and take a friend with you, make sure the dog can see you on the other side while your friend holds her, first thing to do is make sure shes got a real good reason to come to you for example have a piece of game that she would have normally picked and brought back to you. then slowly put the game half way through the hedge and entice her through, please make sure she wants it bad enough by tormenting her with it, she may be hesitant but keep trying 9 times out of 10 she will eventually come throug
  22. Just a quick example of an occasion i used the collar, When my GWP was a pup around 8/9mth things were going really well hunting up at a good safe distance and recalling perfectly, now hes a big strong bold dog and nothing really phased him. right one morning we was out on the fell all of a sudden he started to get a spurt on I thought he'd winded something, I kept up best I could, as I reached the brow I saw he was worrying sheep, after shouting a few times he eventually looked and stood and stared, I caught up with him, obviously to late to punish, he'd stopped. but as we walked away he was
  23. Its definatley an interesting read, and yes a lot of points are viable and worth stating, however like everything else that's had surveys and tests done with peoples opinions don't always make it correct. I WILL KEEP SAYING,,, IF USED CORRECTLY AND AS A TOOL FOR CORRECTION ITS A VALUABLE PIECE OF EQUIPMENT.. I don't believe it should be used for all levels of training, for the basics and advanced sessions, Its all about how and when to use, i feel I can use it correctly and I have never had a nervous dog or a dog look at me waiting for a shock or even peeing itself, you make it sound like we
  24. Kev, I wont convince you about the collar its not my intention, the collar sure, I've not re written the law or even attempted to alter the statute books, but trust me in England they will not be banned, and the reason, they are not seen as acts of cruelty if used correctly check the debates, also with whats been happening in the press lately about dangerous dogs it may work the other way people may be advised to put them on dogs they feel could be a threat. Oh and yes, in certain areas of the uk they are used by people who train these dogs for more than you'd expect, Plod.... Anyway again I
