  1. Right, not familiar with what chartpolski is on about, but hope that there can be some sensible discourse. What have people actually done, especially those who have entered into the racial thing? Doesn't have to be that hard, does it? ATB, Cotswold
  2. Right, there seems to be a certain exposition of views upon the state of the nation. Some people express views that are supposedly in the best interests of this country, and presume that they have the authority to alter the national flag. The Union Flag has served us for 300 years, yet some people think that they have a greater authority than the Crown to alter it. There have been a few posts here that have served nothing other than playing into the hands of the opposition, and plenty that would provide any un-sympathetic parties with loads of ammo. My question is, how many of the pe
  3. Well spotted, mate , missed that!
  4. I struck lucky at a small independent agricultural supplier that had its own workshop, they practically threw a load of off-cuts at me - not crap sizes either, some were practically half sheets. It just meant that by being a bit flexible with my frame sizes I got the job done for a fraction of the cost. Otherwise Countrywide agri merchants do some, but it is pricey. Lilleshall Steels in Gloucester are supposed to be good and they probably deliver down your way. Best of luck, Cotswold
  5. Does anyone know if this POWA lot are what used to be called something like Cotswold Hunt Monitors or Cotswold Animal Welfare, led by Jill Hulse? There was also that old twat from the swan santuary at Cirencester and a weird bird who always wore an ALF t-shirt. I haven't seen them about for ages, anyone else know them? They used to cruise around in a scooby estate, bird looked like she needed a good feed, a jet-wash and a day out with Trinny and Susannah. Great news that Julian's troubles are over. He's a superb huntsman and a bloody nice bloke! With regard to the gyrocopter problem
  6. Don't you think that the couple out hunting were more than just a bit weird, but I loved the moose decoy with its coy 'come and get me' look!! The old girl who lived in the woods was superb, but I wouldn't want to mess with her. I just loved the look of the place, all that space to get out for a bit of mischief, and no-one would even know you were there. ATB, Cotswold
  7. Best quote I could get for my Defender 110 was from NFU Mutual and has stayed that way for the past 3 years. ATB, Cotswold
  8. ......and they're off! It's like the bleeding Vietnam war here, with all the helos taking cash-strapped punters into Prestbury Park. If you look hard enough when they do the shot over the course looking up at Cleeve Hill, I'm the bloke by the radio masts on top waving!
  9. Yup, been there! Free now, though.
  10. Tickets available from the website, on sale from 01/03/09.
  11. It's all here: http://www.fairportconvention.com/ Cropredy is 13-15 August this year. Camping is well organised over about 7 different fields, all within walking distance of the venue. It gets a bit cramped and it pays to get there early. There is families only field but it is on a first-come/first serve basis. To be honest it is all so laid back and hassle free that the other fields are perfectly OK for families. Children under 12 go free. Bogs and showers are reasonable. The line-up so-far for this year is looking good. The album of last year has just been released. The whole
  12. If you like Show of Hands, check out the Albion Band and Fairport Convention. Fairport are touring at the moment, but their best gig is their summer festival at Cropredy near Banbury. It's smallish (max 20,000), laid-back and really family-orientated. All sorts of stuff there, Fairport headline on Saturday night and last year Supergrass and the Levellers were the highlights of the other nights. Robert Plant was a surprise guest last year. Beware the scrumpy from the Wadsworths bar, though, it nearly saw my girlfriend off and she can outdrink most people!
  13. Thank you very much, guys. Phil Beer playing with the Albion Band was one of the first gigs I ever went to.
  14. Does anyone know who sings the song accompanying this clip? Many thanks. (edited due to being a complete cretin and not including the link; I really shouldn't be allowed out on my own)
  15. Ah yeppers, phenol, think that was it. Thanks, Geoff! Has anyone got any other suggestions, preferably anything that is human/animal and plant friendly?
  16. That rings a bell - isn't it anything that make water go cloudy/milky that can kill ferrets. Can't think of the technical word, but seem to remember reading it in a James McKay book years ago. Does anyone know if Jeyes would stop plants growing afterwards? Many thanks.
  17. Any suggestions for cleaning/disinfecting an area of ground that has been subjected to s serious amount of the above? Have taken on some land that I want to extend my garden into so it needs to be human/pet/plant friendly. Would Jeyes do it? Thanks!
