well im going out for the first timethis week so i will put a door on the nest box and sit on tghe floor i dont trust my carpentry skills lol i got 1 of them boxes off ebay cracking bit of kit for the price well made good hindges solid little box

i tend to agree with si on this yes foxes are pests however you have to kill them humainly if you cant then you dont take the shot get as close as you can or even better get the fox to come as close to you a rimmi is more than capable to do the job

not a problem with a 22 rimminmate but this guy is gonna use a bsa lightening 12flb i dont think an air rifle would kill it out right with 1 shot

hi lads what you need to remember is flies weather they r blow flies(blue/green bottle) or lesser house or even just common house flies these are an air bourne insect which live on ferret droppings,old food and even within the bedding they will lay their eggs within all of the above which then turn to larva then they pupate to adult flies ... the best way to keep on top of this is hygiene make sure u clean the cages out everyday even 1s a week jet wash them make sure ur fert has no food hiding in its bedding fly screens are a good idea however ifyou dont do the above are pointless also loo

last time mine got out there was a knock on the door the guy from a couple of doors down came "gary r ur ferrets out cos theres one playing with his daughters rabbit" lucky for the rabbit it was all locked up lol

i had a look about last week wasnt a bad few hrs no young around but like u say undergrowth didnt help missed a few bolt hole and of course they were the 1s mr bunny came out of ... still we got 8 which wasnt bad for a couple of hours ... ill put some pics up when i work this new phone out lol

hi lads i was talking to a pest tec the other day who was telling my about a job he had coming up (trapping foxes) i asked him how he was going to dispatch it when if he caught it he said with an air rifle .... i dont think an air rifle would kill it humanely without causing undue distress it then got me thinking is it legal ? cheers gary

13 hrs down the hole there is a few thing that may have gone wrong has the collar came off the fert ,,, is there a chance its tangled or hung up on a root ... has the ferret been injured ...... the only way to find out is start digging im sry but it was a choice between choppin through roots or retrieving my fert the tree would loose every time .... hope you get some good news soon ... gary

thanks everyone daughter is ok and its not put her off she's got a pretty sensible head on her for a 12y/o its not very often it happens but when it does it is gutting

elo lads well im totally gutted today after the daily routine feed before we set off we got to the sets around 7.30 but hwen the light broke about 8ish we noticed 3 dead carcusses dotted around the land also a couple of dead woodies by the looks of it some prick had been out with an air rifle and a guess they werent the best shot in the world (well that was my thought) anyhow we cracked 1st set nothing so onto the 2nd a small 2 eyed set 1 large hole and a little bolter about 20 foot up the hill so in went the big fella and what a noise then nothing after about 10 mins got the lo

spot on lads good size bag there ......ps that looks like 1 of my old stomping grounds from when i was a kid over the A1 from the valley lol having said that it also looks like a spot up haltwhistle lol ,,lost again!!!!
