The missus was just having a look on some websites for a puppy. What the f**k has happened to the price of pups? Jack Russell £900, Border Terrier £2500. Cheapest mongrel £1500. Since when did prices get so high?

We normally harvest around now. I only know that because today is the wife's birthday and she always gets pissed off when we can't go out for a birthday meal because I'm carting straw most the night. I will say, we are about 2 weeks behind this year on straw.

The local hedgehog rescue releases on the farm here. I've only seen them when they get released, never again

Put a fresh battery on one once, and when I lent over the fence to turn it on the metal prong of the tester was sticking out of my top pocket touching the fence. Knocked me on my arse.

As we cut the fields for 2nd cut this afternoon, I thought I would have a quick look this evening. Got to the farm and straight away I noticed some magpies dive bombing something at the bottom of the first field. Looked through the scope and I could just see the top of a foxes head. Now I know these fields well, and this fox was between 300 and 350 yards away. Not happy with taking the shot with only seeing the top of it's head I waited. About 10 mins later it got pissed off with the magpies and got up and walked off and through the far hedge. I quickly walked up the hedge to the nex

The hay fields were cut Friday night but I couldn't get up there till last night. Walked the first on and nothing about so went on to the second one. Started with the hand call and within 5 minutes this little vixen came flying in. Dropped her at about 70 paces. Called for a bit more but nothing showed, so I went back to the car for a brew. As it got dark I went for another look and dropped the dog fox in about the same position as the vixen was. So all in all a good night

First silage cut was day before yesterday so been out the last couple of nights having a look. I saw a fox mousing in the fresh cut grass the first night but couldn't get a shot. Tonight though the same vixen popped out the hedge 100 yards in front of me and a 50g .223 dropped her on the spot.

Ignore me Terry, that was to keep meshes the same size when knitting on a ring
-
Terry, I'm sure it was Alan who told me to take a couple of meshes off the board as you are knitting them. Saying that, none of mine are as neat as in the top picture.

stepson plays the guitar, challenged him the other day to learn some new tunes. Played him some random things for him to play back. He learned things like the Dambusters march and William Tell overture in 2 mins. Did take him about 5 mins to learn the flight of the bumblebee though.

I know a local RFD you runs his shop from his house. He told me he had to have the ceiling reinforced because he used a downstairs room and his house alarm wired to the nearest police station. (the nearest police station manned 24hrs is about 20 miles away). But I don't know how true this is or if he was just laying it on, could be bullshit

No other names, so got the missus to pick a random number and Longshanx is the winner. PM me you address and I will get it in the post for you mate.

20/12 from fourteenacre is what I make mine out of. Never made a 100 yard net, much prefer to make 25 yard nets and add them together to make 100 yards

Right, I think i have made up my mind, think. Definitely a pard 008lrf when they are back in stock in a couple of weeks ish. A i'm 90% sure a .22wmr, that will cover fox and rabbit and if asked it will be a dedicated night vision rifle hence the need for it.
