Nice rifle you got there! Why don't you get a high intensity led flashlight instead of the Deben? I use a Fenix TK10 on my Condor. It compliments the tactical look and produces a blinding white focussed beam of light. Lighter pellets dont retain their energy as long as heavy pellets do. Though they may leave the muzzle faster, they slow down real quick and wont have the impact or velocity of heavy pellets at distances.

I'm planning on installing a bipod on my Diana 52. Will it affect my groups?? I know that supporting a spring rifle or holding it in anyway is a bad idea as far as accuracy is concerned. But I know several shooters who swear by the accuracy as long as I dont get rubber tipped bipods and stick with the plate tipped bipod legs (This allows the gun to recoil..) Also, Diana sells a bipod for the 48/52/54 models. Of course that could be a sales gimmick. But what I want to know is, has any of you tried one on your spring rifles?? Thanks!! Mo.

Hmmm.. Well, if all you're looking for is soft pellets, then there are a lot of chinese pellets that'll make it to the list. They mushroom a lot on impact, but the finish and quality is nothing to write home about!

How long has it been since you bought it? Has the cocking effort also reduced? Was there smoke when you shot it the first few times? Is it quieter now? More importantly, how do you know that the power has reduced? Penetration tests or range? Or are you using a chrono? The simplest explanation would be that the gun has been dieseling so far and now settled down to its actual power. That happens a lot with new springers. Take the gun to a reputed gunsmith and have it inspected if you feel necessary.

It was a fun fun plinker!! and super light! The H&N Silver Points are 11.80gr in .177 and 16.90gr in .22 They ain't that heavy. The Rabbit Magnum discussed here is 16.85 in .177 and 30gr in .22. Lol! Well said! he he! Thats the thing. Enough pressure will eventually develop to push the pellet forward. But the heavier/tighter the pellet, the more the stress on the spring. Thats the whole thing. Also, if the pellet doesn't start moving at the right pressure, undue stress will be exerted on all the internals. right?? Sometimes the pellets are so light that its almost equivalent to dry-firing. And in certain super light pellets made of non-lead material, pellet skirt expansion does not happen at times. This leads to near dry fire situation where the piston does not have

Thanks Pete! I agree with Deker too. But couldn't it be that this is a problem that's aggravated in FAC springers? Cause most people agree that light or extra heavy pellets increase the possibility of dieseling. Maybe its a series of situations that contribute to the spring fatigue. Including bad maintenance as Deker said.. The sad part is that I don't have any friends who use sub 12ft/lb rifles. So all I can speak of is FAC ones.
