I act as underkeeper on our syndicated shoot. I studied engineering, and so have no idea what its like to study gamekeeping etc. at college. I've learned from various books, articles and my mate Ian, who is our keeper. His dad was a keeper before him. webber

This subject was discussed at great length on the Pigeon Watch forum some time ago. From memory, the outcome was that your friend may NOT use your spare gun. To clarify the position it would be worthwhile contacting the firearms department at BASC. webber

How can it be a gimik, when without the illuminated cross hairs I see no cross hairs when lamping? webber Lots of different reticles and perhaps some too fine to see well at night ...or lamp not bright enough....I'm just curious as I have no problem seeing my non illuminated reticle under the lamp. Think I have bought 5 scopes since the illuminated one and no need or desire to buy another that lights up!! No night problems with JSR, Hawke, AGS, Nikko Sterling, Simmons, Leupold all without the illumination.....but then again my lamp is ok...that's why I need a 9ah Battery

the big cheese squirrel cage trap
webber replied to daniel8822's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
I've used these traps with great sucess. I agree that they can need a little tweeking to get the mechanism sensitive enough. I've found the best bait to be chunky peanut butter spread libberally on the treadle plate. Test the trap with a pancil through the mesh. webber -

HOW FAR DOES GUNSHOT TRAVEL? 05 December 2008……………………………immediate release The British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) has joined forces with Cranfield University at Shrivenham to offer its members the most comprehensive and accurate information on distances travelled by all main shot types used in game, wildfowl, pigeon and clay shooting. My Honda TRX 300 does everything I need on our shoot, including the trailer pulling. I'm not sure about on road use, as I dont go on the road, but you will need to ensure that you select the correct type of tyres as I understand that many of the tyres for quads are not road legal. webber

We have converted a few hundred vehicles over many years. In that time only one customer has been quoted a marginally higher premium by his insurer when he advised them that he had converted his vehicle. One further telephone call by the customer changed his insurer, and reduced his premium. webber

I cant quickly think of any exceptions to this general rule. The vehicle manufacturers fitted mediocre equipment, made it bespoke, and charged like rhinos for it. Most main dealers will run a mile from them. Most independant LPG converters are limited in what they can do to repair these systems. Just dont buy it. Find the vehicle that you want with a decent aftermarket kit fitted, or have one converted with quality kit, and you will be fine. I've lost count of the number of manufacturer fitted LPG kits that we have removed and replaced with either Tartarini or Lovato sequenti

There was a small consession on the rate of road fund license charged for LPG vehicles. It either has, or is about to be abolished. May I also advise you NOT to purchase a vehicle which has had a FACTORY FITTED SYSTEM. webber

It would be much easier to sort the blown head, than to fit an alternative engine. webber
