Gents I work in the LPG cylinder business. May I warn of the great dangers of cutting into LPG cylinders. I would also advise that the cylinders can only be scrapped by the gas company that owns them. They have to use approved scrap merchants to do so; they have a legal obligation to ensure that scrapped gas cylinders are rendered beyond re use. Therefore, technically, making such stoves from gas cylinders is theft. webber

I'm not going into the differences in the grades of OXYGEN, as it is irrelevant here. What is very relevant, is what has already been highlighted. Under NO circumstances should you charge a PCP with OXYGEN. Dieseling may well occur, with catastrophic effect. Loss of life is not unknown. webber

It was cheaper to buy a complete vehicle than buy a replacement engine. We therefore have the remainder of the automatic vehicle up for grabs piecemeal. Everything works fine, the vehicle was taxed, tested and driven from Southport to St. Helens no problem. Please contact me if you are looking for any parts, and I will do my best. webber

BASC’S MEMBERSHIP NUMBERS HIT RECORD HIGH 01 January 2009.................................immediate release The British Association for Shooting and Conservation’s membership numbers reached a record high during December. The number of individual members passed the 130,000 mark. During the course of 2008, despite the credit crunch, the recruitment of new members has exceeded expectations. BASC chief executive, John Swift, said: “BASC membership has continued to rise steadily which we believe is testament to the strength of an association that fields a wide range of exper

That's nice and cheap, but CPSA will do nothing to protect live quarry shooting. Don'T forget that a short while ago they even tried to change their name to Clay Target Shooting Association, in an attempt to disassociate their type of shooting from live quarry shooting. webber

Hi I noticed that you had chosen to go with SGCA, and wondered why you had chosen an association based in Scotland? They will do nothing to protect and support shooting in England, which NGO for example will. I also would be interested to learn if you had any specific reasons, other than cost, for not going with BASC? Regards webber

As Rob says camo tape may be your answer, but get the cloth type to prevent shine off the varnish on the other type. If you do want to paint it, I would use black exhaust paint, but am not sure if you can get it in matt. webber

good post webber. but you have left out the bit about him being a basc member for 5 years and getting no help at the time from them. if they are to help him now it is because of the threads on pw that made basc feel a little left out and thought they may get a bit of mileage out of any rescue attempt. its a fact now that basc are thinking of changing there insurance policies and are hoping to charge members a bit more for the privilege. Mark I cant comment on how long winchester had been a BASC member, as I dont know. However the length of membership term is irrelevant.

winchester may not bother to reply. He's doing his best to move on, and enjoy another passion. His fight however to clear his name goes on. From the experience encountered by winchester, I would advise SACS members to place little faith in the legal protection cover tendered as part of their package. Much mileage was made by what were then passionate SACS members with the regards to the legal support winchester was receiving via the SACS policy. The claims were made on THL and PW, possibly on other forums, which I dont frequent. The bottom line was that winchester lost his appea
