  1. I tried loads of brands when I got my RF and stuck with Eley. Magtechs were ok and the hollow point was more of a crater than a hollow! Whilst they looked fantastic and certainly did the damage, I couldn't see the point if they were shooting over or under the target. They were okay at close range I guess, but for work with the rangefinder and dialling-in on the turrets, I can't fault the eley rounds. Head and chest shots to about 115 -120 yds all day long with Eley. There's still masses of energy in the bullet at that range so the expansion isn't really a problem as long as the placement
  2. I had a box of 100 CCI subs a while back. Not these ones admitedly, but they were all over the place! Every fouth or fifth one would go supersonic and some seemed well under what they should have been. They were dead cheap, but I wouldn't entertain them for rabbits again. Used them all up on tin cans in the end. I tend to shoot at longish range with the .22 and often take head/chest shots at 120yds with a rangefinder. I wouldn't dream of using CCI's unless they've upped the consistency a heck of a lot. Magtech do some with massive hollow points, and I put a few hundred of them thro
  3. I'd add that it also depends how many rabbits you are expecting to hit the nets. If you think you're in for a bumper bag, then go less distance between poles. Sod's law you'll space them at 6yds+ thinking you won't do any good, you'll bant the field, get back to your net and find it pulled down with trapped rabbits, but still have bunnies winging over the top at the last minute. Now that's annoying! If in doubt, set too many poles rather than too few. mmmm, might try a drop later.....
