  2. Just heading out with mine now letting one of my daughters have her first go with a shotgun i just hope she doesn't get any double loads
  3. Thanks for the reply the scope has arrived I've had a look through it and everything seems to work as it should it's a Christmas present from the wife and I didn't want her to spend too much. As it's 44mm can you get away with medium mounts on the cz rim fires. Atb Roy
  4. If you get a good terrier it will start bushing by itself no point trying to push a dog into empty cover just to please yourself. If there's something in there of interest to the dog it will go in for a look
  5. The 3"carts vary a lot in noise level and recoil i let one go the other day and it was like a cannon going off
  6. I've been using one of these mounts and they are very good the beam trajectory alignment is spot on. When I first got it i thought it wouldn't work but was pleasantly surprised
  7. Missus has just ordered me the 6-24x44 for Xmas gonna put it on top of a hmr are they any good
  8. Took the raider from the cabinet today and when I put the air in it sounds like it has a leak so I had to take the at44-10 instead. I think the raider is due for a service and some new seals is this a dear job and any ideas roughly how much. Atb Roy
  9. I watched loads of gun tests on the Internet which were firing through new barrels Hornaday vmax returned the best results . When I purchased a new Hmr I tried different brands remington being one of them a certain brand with black tips which I can't remember the name of without looking in the ammo safe were appalling no grouping whatsoever. Hornaday vmax however are tackdrivers through it . perhaps when the barrels wear in they become better with other ammo and I will take the other brands out and give them a go next time I have a zero session. But it still doesn't explain why ammo coming out
  10. Barky have you tried the remington rounds yet and if so what sort of grouping are you getting

  12. They should be the same but when a comparison is done on accuracy how come the Hornaday vmax comes out the best
  13. I know its a big problem I've had the police called out to me before by a member of the public off the footpath
  14. I couldn't get it to work properly on mine and in the scenario that reynard pops up you usually don't have time to change cartridges if it's very close it gets the 4's or 5's steel i always use otherwise it gets to go on its way i do have some buffalo bb's in the belt for this occasion but it's never been practical to use them
  15. It's a magazine lock to stop the next round loading i have never used it on mine but I'm sure there is a practical application for it
  16. I got one with a 40mm objective lens and the side focus is spot on. good luck with the sale
  17. In Avon and Somerset they ask that you do a DSC1 before they will grant you a centrefire for deer, but that is police choice not home office regulation you should be able to have a caliber of rifle you have good reason to own, but stating this to your feo will just get you grief, that said if you don't know what you are doing going out with a mentor and even doing a course not necessarily a DSC1 can only benefit your own stalking experience, its not just about safe shooting with the right caliber when you grollach you need to know whether or not the animal is in good health and fit for consum
  18. You have a centre fire already but don't know caliber specifics regarding deer or understand certificate wording, sorry if this sounds a bit harsh and I know everyone has questions but this appears to me like closing the gate after the horse has bolted scenario.
  19. It's in the for sale section under lamp's a member called cushty mushty is selling them. I've been through a lot of lamps never been particularly impressed with most of them but these are spot on
