I took mine out the other night but thats it now until the ground softens its like solid concrete out there at the moment it was minus seven this morning

I've tried walking away, stood with my back to her, she comes back to me no problem just wont touch a rabbit after she's killed it

I have a eleven month old bitch which I have been putting a lot of time into, she is shaping up really well started giving her a couple of runs from seven months and she was a natural, retreiving back to hand always dead but they tend to do that when they start, anyway took her out with someone elses dog my bitch was retrieving a rabbit and the other dog grabbed it and a tug of war ensued, next time I took her out she only retrieved to within 10 foot of me and now she wont retrieve at all, even runs off with the rabbit and drops it in the field, she will retrieve anything balls, dummys, rabbit

I've got a course to run on but the most I've had off it are three in one night, very fast rabbits,went there sunday night the dog ran into a thorn bush after one and cut her face to pieces lucky not to lose her eyes

She will bring back a tennis ball and push it into my hand no problem, its just the rabbits at the moment, I sort of knew I was going to have a problem when I was having a tug of war with her and the other dog.

I have a lurcher pup who is shapping up to be a really good bitch, she seems to learn something from every dog she goes out with but the other night she was out with a dog who got really pissed at her catching the rabbits and a tug of war happened and she was reluctant to let me have it, anyway I took her out last night and she had some good runs and catches she retreived the rabbits but stopped about 20 foot away and didnt want me to have them, now I would like some advice do I go back to basics with the rabbit skin or has somebody got some other things they have tried, also after the tug of

I,ve got permission on a golf course which I'm not allowed on during daylight hours so I have been thinking about giving ferreting at night a go, so after all the constructive comments on this thread the next full moon Im over there

1. The blueing is very thin always wipe over with a oiled rag after every trip. 2. You get used to the safety catch but make sure the gun is pointing somewhere safe when you engage it ( I once shot a petrol cutter in the back of my van when I was rushing to get a shot on some ferals). 3. The bolt creeps up on mine its something you get used to and correct. 4. never had a problem with the mags 5. The barrel band can move with a gnats chuff. But after alls said and done its a brilliant bit of kit and I wouldnt get rid of mine.

Im out with the pup tonight, it seems a bit sparce for bunnys at the moment down my neck of the woods, but its wet and windy out and I cant help myself
