  3. im not, jus got space for the 1 dog. but my mates dog would be up for stud!!! Maybe it`s a good idea, perhaps you could post a pic of the dog, and tell us more about it, i.e. height, weight, and what type of work it`s done.... Mars... il get some pics but it is a "standard" kc dog from breeders. jus trying to find out if many have had this cross??? p.s. its seen lots of rats and it comes ferreting and for a mooch on the lamp.

  8. so no lurchers have terrier in em??? im not saying that mate i really did think i was on the terrier section lol bless ya
  9. Have you seen one then ? If not what do you think a cross to a manchester terrier would bring to a lurcher,? From what i understand, the breed is virtualy extinct & has`nt been used for work for a long time... Mars.. my friend has one and its game as you like, hard and lean more weight to it so could be like the bull x but a bit leaner. sounds like my sort of dog!!
  10. good ideas, i never even thought of trying with cheapo stuff 1st!!!! il buy a kit with a dvd then have a few goes with twine.
  11. hi, i have decided to have a go at making my own purse nets and was wondering what material if any is easiest to work with for a complete beginner?? i would prefer to make spun nylon but seeing as it is my 1st time then i would prefer the easiest to work with i think thanks
  12. as the title suggests, has anyone got any dogs with manchester terrier in them???
  13. sounds like them dogs would mark burrows at least. and im not sayin they wouldnt catch anything because they might do if they listen and catch the rabbit immediately the moment it bolts e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbktDGBTqm0 atb
  14. people do work deaf ferrets ok, just keep an eye out for him once he surfaces!! if your coonhound is crossed with a longdog it might work but the coonhounds look slow. as above get a spade and be ready to dig, dont know what the ground is like out your way!! is shipping really that expensive because nets dont weigh anything and surely they could post them as a gift if not i can send you some out marked as a birthday present. done it before for friends etc. pm me if you want. keep us up to date with your quest.
  15. iv had spayed jills, dont make no difference imo. atb
  16. do you have a dog capable of catching rabbits?? if so you may want to just get some locators and try that.
  17. got my dog at 10months and wanted to cats which is a pain as i live in the centre of a town so he has to be exercised in the parks and footpaths which are all full of cats. i started him on the lead and when he went at one he got told off now when he sees one and he is off the lead his ears go up but if i growl at him he will forget it. sure if i said go on he would go for it but that is no use at all!!! hope this helps...
  18. my dog retrieves balls and rabbit skins etc flawlessly but let him catch a real rabbit and he will hold it for a while then sometimes run off the other way. if i bellow at him he will stop and let me walk up and take it off him. hes 14 months but iv only had him since he was 10months. any ideas??
  19. good idea. different perspective makes a lot of sense. especially when you can only visit some places at night lol
