  2. yeah true, how much would a ferret rescue hob put me back? or is it cheaper to buy and get vasectamised myself?
  3. no the gill isnt pregnant yet it is a plan, and i can guess your next sentence so save your breath You asked my opinion. Its not what you want to hear...sorry. Ferrets are free to good homes, If he wants to breed them let him. The cost and risk to you is huge. fair enough sorry for the snap, i'm just so used to pricks saying thingss like yeah well its a dumb plan, which is not helpful . i understand wher your coming from and i will probably say no but it wa a good oppertunity i guess with a lot of risks
  4. i take it these things will be explained (what they are,not how to fix them) in previous posts, ok i will have another word with him. but is the whole cat biscuit thing ok?
  5. he has bread good working stock quite a few times and shifted more ferrets than i care to mention, and says he feeds cat biscuits and for the young softens them with warm water, would this be ok, well it works ,but you know what i mean

  10. maybe a side entry could work meaning a sqig would enter it in a similar way to a floor tunnel, just a though give it a go
  11. it was never going to be long untill this was shot down. your snares want to be around 23 and a half inch long althou i like mine 24. the wire tealer has the bounus of an incorparated swivel that should help make your snare last longer take a look at the snareing sections on the front page mate lots and lots of sound advice their old bugg read the pinned articles you have a lot to learn
  12. would those big shaving off planes (wood planes ) and shavers work? cos i am getting ferrets and my college has a woodwork dept and they just cuck the stuff
  13. i went out with my brother mate again today for a few hours did a few easyish burrows in the corners or a feild and a hedge, nothing in the first but the ferret did a good run round (i think two would be better but darent question him hes pretty firey lol) anyways netted up the second and entered the ferret (only one again) and after ages and the ferret rising with blood on her nose (think she had a youngen) one rabbit bolted, missed the net but got caught in another as it went to ground so i rushed over and dispatched quickly i definately getting ferrrets now i love it and ive got the ti
  14. my brothers tooth did that lol it sound like the inside is 'dead' but if its still strong it should be fine (if the same applies for ferrets lol) see what the pros say
  15. how did you have net ahead of you, surely you had that loaded on the other pin, Id suggest putting end pin in, and walking the whole net out to the end first, then go back and put your poles in, that way you can pull the net, rather than the lines, as these will be taught, tying the net into the top line, shouldent take long to do, and at least it keeps the correct amount of bagging, remember to tie in with a needle though, and actually sew it through the top line, otherwise just tying it to the top line it can and will slip back and fourth as far asi can understAND FROM A dvd I'VE SEE
  16. loose the string and tie the end of the snare to the fence wire using a CLOVE HITCH i wish i could find some runs through tha pig mesh stuff on my permission, they put some in a while ago so its just a waiting game. good luck
  17. Just had a look at the link it say's you can even find your car and it will locate it to within a couple of inches! frickin heck you should'nt be driving should you if you have to locate your car to within a couple of inches??? unless you had parked it in a wood, and was off the beaten track poaching i looked at getting one of these of the bay as i don't think i could afford a ferret one (deben) but dare not mention it on here as i though i would be chucked off lol glad to see im not mad, has anybody bitten the bullet yet??
  18. this site is blocked on my college server as are most other sites with the word hunting in, yet taliban sites search fine(i tried to prove a point ) anyway official conmplaints are bound
  19. whats illegal about snares? whats illegal about snares? that's that i was thinking. he is in oz so the laws and animals are different over their good spot charlie, sharper eyes than me
  20. it wasnt that bad when i bought a couple of months back but i agree it expensive but i was me first time spinning snares so i didnt want enough gear to make 1000 odd of them
  21. more a question of 4 or 6 strand lighter for summer and heavie for winter if the rabbits are big or your own preference. i spin mine on a very small scale with one end clamped in mole-grips (held to my bedroom desk with a G clamp) and put the eyelet on a cup hook held in the chuck of a old hand wound drill. this works very well just keep the tension good. obviously snares need replacing after a while but if you can get retensioning in them you can have a few rabbits though before the change. and ian118118 google 'euroguns' and look on there for snare wire they do 500g gram bundle things. and t
