ok i went to the vets today and asked for some frontline spray, i got sent away with a spot on for ferrets, rabbits and other small pets, called Genitrix Xeno 450 with an active ingredient of ivermectin this seemed ok and im sure it will do the job (i will let you know tomorrow when the fleas have had a chance to die) anyway the main thing was the price i was given 2 spot on pippettes of the stuff enough for my two ferrets. and a bill of £9.32 which struck me as pricey if you can repeatedly treat with frontline spray so what do i do next time? im definately trying that garlic tric

wrong would be another one, any chance of a close up to see how they are attached?

how was the trigger plate attached to the door after? the trap has now been modifed and is sprung and completely galvanised, the trigger plate is conected to the door via a thick wire (2mm) which is supported halfway, so when something hits the plate the wire is pulled from under the door and it slams shut. bingo, i ha\ve had a rat in it so it works but i havent seen the squirrel it was designed for in ages any photos of the modified trap mate i will try and remember to take some as well as the ones of me ferrets for that topic lol

cool but they are proper infested with fleas so i will get the frontline on them too cos i really need to handle them loads as i just got them

i was out with the shotgun today going for some pigeons (im not a great shot tbh) anyways whats the best range to puts the decoys at as ive only got half a dozen and is it worth going with the shotgun or should i wait for them to last and drop them with the air rifle? they seem really easily spooked eg. bringin the gun up to shoot and they fly out of range. any tips for hide building and such like??? got a couple today and yesterday for the ferrets and a rooks too but could do with more, also whats the best way to bring in rooks?
-
cool i guesss that spread it out all over then, so how many sprays per ferret so i dont over do it
-
thanks kay. the word of wisdom as ever I wouldnt use anything that i thought would harm them , thats why i have never used the spot on on a ferret , its got more of the fipronil in it per dose than the spray it was desperation speaking i thought i could dilute it but best leave that to the pros how much should a bottle of that set me back?

thanks kay. the word of wisdom as ever

i just want to get rid of the fleas asap so i can handle them again cos im being bitten all over by fleas when i do, how do i administer fresh garlic, and if i just let them have a full bowl of food constantly wont they just get fat? i am nipping to the vets tomorrow on the way past to pick up the flea spray, so what exactly should i ask for?? and i am still interested in the garlic idea in addition to this but need the exact details before i start try to convince the ferrets garlic is good for them

yeah, think i can start snaring again soon after lifting them for the breeding season, the babys are getting bigger and my freezer emptier so might start. as for foxes, i might try snaring so me on my permission as the farmers getting fed up with them (hes a rubbish shot lol) plenty of good runs and can you fence snare them too. and then whats the best dispatching tool rimfire .22 or a shotgun?
-
i dont intend to feed them dog food, i went out with a shotgun today and shot them two nice fresh pidgeon £100 is a lot of money but i shall start saving, them are fine with each other apart from when there is fresh meat around lol then the tug o war begins. lol can they eat carrion? cos there are loads of rooks about?? why do they need garlic, and how do i give them it? thanks and i'll get down the library soon as possible

i have done a bit a peg snaring and a couple of snares on stranded wire fencing but snaring through pig fencing seems to be really successful, and i have found a few runs on the farm. i know that people cut a wire to increase the kill zone, but my main question ias which one? is it the one that the rabbit normally hops over (so is dirty from their belly) or the one above this?? thanks rob

they arent that bad, i was only worried because the albinos neck was all marked up, but its healing now i just dont want them going brokeback on me

short and to the point. cheers mate will look into it, but i hope as said the smell will reduce in a couple of weeks. anyway the update: so busy playing with them in the garden i didnt take pictures they are too big for rate holes (thier idea not mine) my albino has learnt how to climb up the mesh and out of the hutch when the lids up i tried to seperate them into a two tier hutch (one up one down ) but all hey did was try and scratch through to each other, then i figured one in the shed in the main hutch and one outside in the other hutch, but agian all they did was scratch
-
whats the going rate for that? and how does it stop the smell?
-
good luck to you to i will handle them most the day sunday to get really used to me and ready to roll
-
cheers guys i got a two tier utch with them, its not as big as my hutch but it might be worth it im at work tomoorow again so i will clean it out, singe it and refelt it tomorrow so it can sit outside with em for the next couple ogf weeks , then they can go in the big hutch together in the shed after that, they seem happy just sniffing around and bouncing and squeaking, alls good will try get soe pics up. as for names bertie for the poley, and fred for the albino i think keep you posted cheers rob

Aye..........best ignore all the info' provided by a body that's spent hundreds of thousands researching best practices nationwide & do it your own way eer well strangly yes and i doubt they spent that tbh the speel they give is the same as every camping and boyscout book has been for decades, WRONG! GS waters , woodga, P&G... etc those are the guys that do it for a living and have caught more rabbits than you or i could ever dream of mate, take a lesson in humility and listen to the pros. and trapperman i would stay under the table for a bit longer but thats my ran
