  2. could you not chain the traps to that lovely big fence and leave in situ? and if you follow the runs from the nettles and edge they will get more faint but if you know the general direction you should be able to make them out
  3. i had a good day too no pics though, i had a lovely necksnared bunny waiting for me this morning and another when i checked this aftrnoon so 2 bunnies for the freezer and an two offers of rabbiting permission and a cash reward promissed for trapping a problem squirrel plus £40 in the kitty for a days work at the restaurant
  4. sorry forgot to say that you`ve left it a bit late to cut pegs you should cut them after leaf fall in the dorment season as the sap is now rising, i dont know how this will effect wood cut now but it may make it more brittle? dont know!, could take longer to season i guess but if worst comes to worst ive got some meranti from work! might need a diamond blade to cut that stuff though! cheers hyperion yeah it will only take longer to season and tools will need cleaning more often, but in the long run it should be fine it will be more supple now cos of the sap andeasier
  5. i have ordered some off killgerm myself but as said the postage is rather steep, if you could find out whether or not they are the sole distributors it would be great. i think you would hjave a lot of takers on here for originals and modded. as they are much cheaper but seemingly as effective as fenns
  6. can you see mice in them think that answers the question i mean in general are they strong and robust ect good powerful springs a bucket of water and a toilet roll can catch mice but i wouldnt call that a good trap
  7. i use hazel rods i know this is a tangent but 20mm to an inch size cut the 7-8" lengths point and drill nice and light also strong, but any coppiced or suckered shoots would do
  8. that worked for me left the cage open over night woke up in the moring and she was curled up sleeping. hope you get your ferret back Raider boy So do I mate he bolted over 500 rabbits last season and it was his first season took to the hunt better than any ferret I have had the pleasure in seeing. Thats the reason I am so gutted and also the fact that he was also a family pet aswell. furthest mine got was 3 miles...... mrs rang all local vets..... result - found . Dont bother with RSPCA they arent feckin interested at all .
  9. i want to try some cage trapping of the rabs in the padock opposite the farmers house where the farm cats frequent (i caught one in a snare last time i tried snaring) anyway what would be a good size to make them up to and would the best bait be chopped carrot and set perpendicular to the runs. treadle or a oneway push door best?

  11. wont the rats bite my ferrets i have put some fenns out tonight and if not successsful i will move them they are on the inside and outside edges. kingkeeper21 i will try and remember to let you know a bit a rat killing always a testing but fun challenge
  12. scrap yard, or tape/lash to bits of high tensile 3mm fencing wire together and spray or maybe one if its strong enough
  13. where is the best place to put the traps bearing in mid my compost heap is 12x 8' plus:D there aer holes in the heap and they are living off scraps. whats the best bait to lure them ojut and the best places and methods to trap i have 3 fenn mk4's, 1 bg 116 and a live catch?
  14. killgerm £2.13 each plus vat and delivery wow thats pricey for a snap trap but if you can do that and a fenn cost 7.50 plus its good. whats the difference between the normal victor rat traps and these?

  21. haven't noticed fleas on mine but loadsa ticks! i had the 2 hobs off someone who couldn't look after them and they are really badly covered round the neck area. I received my frontline from ebay america today (took about a week to come) so i held the ferrets got my daughter to spray my hand with gloves on and rub it in so fingers crossed Give it a day or two & they will start to drop off as for the confined space thing i scraped out the old hutch and scorched it with a propane torch (remove ferrets first ) so that should have got them and i burnt the bedding jumpers the fe

  23. at first on here i was told 30% ish is fine for ferrets but the numbers are just going up, mine are currently being fed on go cat dry bistcuits along with some fresh pigeon and seem fine, lively as anything andthey love the biscuits.clambering up the mesh at feeding time at mole valley farmers a big sack of go cat is £19ish for 10kg and vitalin ferrets food is £29 for 15kg so really theres nothing in it but im sure prices will vary. whats taurine?? and why do gferrets need it and how can cat food cause what was it bladder stones??
  24. maybe just scrap the wooden base and extend the end wires then you can set the trap and shove thetunnel over the top could work
