  1. a lot of it depends on the breeding.a mate of mine had one from george kelly that could graft.killed plenty hares with it.
  2. fair play to him frank,i'd have shot the b*****d aswell.
  3. trust me mate, they will do it if they want the dogs bad enough.some thievin gippo's scruffed mine over a 7 foot run in broad daylight.
  4. nice dog that towzer.hows he bred?
  5. i'd go easy with the offal,it goes through mine like bullets if i give em too much. get the necks aswell, beltin scran for a dog.
  6. would have to agree there whin.i've seen a few pure breds run, mainly in the wolds east yorks.they lack a gear for me.love the stamina and durability though.had a pure bred off p.sagar a few years back.would lamp all night no problem.my hybrid wiped the floor with it in the day though.
  7. think i'd put him to sleep mate.he sounds like an accident waiting to happen.if he does someone over its going to be messy.a friend of mine got badly attacked by a large lurcher a few years ago,his arms were a right mess.he's six foot three and built like a brick shithouse so just think what could happen to a smaller guy or kid.it does'nt bare thinking about..
  8. found them a bit to slow for me.i bred a litter back to a greyhound bitch 3/4 grey 1/8bull 1/8 saluki these where better allrounders and still plenty game enough.the pup you've already got sounds right enough, stick with that.
  9. nice one dont envy the fella who gets to skin em all lol
  10. personally i've found a lot of bull crosses are hang on anywhere merchants, making a lot of the carcass inedible in the process.my past experience with saluki types has usually resulted in minimal damage to the beast, resulting in more edible meat, which is what we want aint it.
  11. first off,you dont need a dog thats the canine equivalent of mike tyson to stop a roe, which, living where you do will probably be the deer you'll be running. secondly,in my experience, most well bred lurchers,if entered correctly ,will tackle them no problem.over the years i've owned collie, bull, deerhound and saluki lurchers all took deer, some where just better at it than others.for the day job,my choice would be saluki cross.your almost guaranteed the speed and the stamina to see the job through to the finish where other crosses will usually fade after a few fields persuit.all will take them
