Funny enough we've had a few cats here and there and once Moved over twenty miles away And the cat came with us only to disappear and end up back at my old yard I'm not a lover of cats I have to admit and certainly would never want one in the house but outside or in a yard with horses or livestock there ideal for keeping rats and mice down Also when did a summer working as a keeper we used to control the stray cats and they where tough old things I don't think you're supposed to eat them ! Lol

My father said after the war, because people were so used to guns, nobody took much notice if was carrying one. He said as a kid he could just stick an air rifle over his shoulder and go for a mooch through fields nearby, nobody cared. Another guy a bit older I spoke to said he would carry a 22 rifle uncovered through the local high street and shoot Staines Moor which is now smaller and fragmented by the M25.
