It's very sad how this government treats the farmers, well thats what you get when you have a bunch of urban monkeys in charge. They can only view the countryside as a place to visit at weekends, f**k the life of people whose familys have been farming for centuries. They should do what they do in Australia and promote our own produce, everybody should try and buy local and go for quality not just price.

I think the pups would come out favouring the whippet more, but the chances of copper toxicosis becomes a possibility which would not happen in a first cross. -

I'm a spark and i've had people ask me many times if there wiring is faulty due to a number ofbulbs blowing at once. Nearly always it's nothing to do with the wiring, just the bulbs are a similar age and have a similar life span so they tend to go in batches. Poltergeists is of course another possibility.

Go for a decent greyhound stud, whippet / collie crosses are nearly always too heavy for most things. The whippet frame just won't take the cross well and there will be too much wastage.

Has anyone tried one of those tinned/cast iron, hand operated, clamp to worktop mincers that are quite common on the net, I just wondered if they will cope with chicken and rabbit bones.

Thanks for your support people, it's made me feel much better. As with many things in life, you don't appreciate what you have untill it's gone. I'm looking forward to getting out in the country with my pup on some bright sunny mornings and going to some country shows

Yes i'm coming back, I really feel daft especially after all your kind words of support but when it comes down to it i'm more of a home boy than I realised. I know i'll miss my family too much and maybe it's a step too far and i'm not tough enough to make a go of it so far from home.Maybe if I came here with a wife and kids it would be different. I also miss the green fields of England and the hunting culture, even with all the problems there. I'm coming back next week and looking for a place in the country in Southern England.
