I'd go for a 3/4 grey 1/4 collie but spend a good amount of time looking for the right dog. There's collies and there's collies, i think a lot of the agility dogs are a bit too temperamental so look for one with farm collie in it. I've got a line bred collie grey which works out about 50/50 she's a very smart bitch but her energy levels are very high and she needs mental stimulation or she tears the place up. I think she'll be better when she starts hunting, in about six months time. Intelligence does'nt necessarilly mean easy to train, i think a smart dog can use it's intelligence to try

Yes thanks Ditch, yes I started reading that thread,then took the dog out for a couple of hours. I could'nt find it when I looked again for it the following day I think fat must be the answer so i'll go out tomorrow and search the local butcher shops untill i get lucky I agree with you Ditch, it must be a better way to let them chew the whole pieces of chicken instead of mince but when i tried her with wings she practically swallowed them whole . It just worries me that they wont break down enough and cause a blockage

I wonder if anybody can help. I feed my 6 month old pup tripe veg and mixer in the morning. Minced chicken i mince myself with veg and mixer for lunch and dinner plus vitamin powder with each meal. She seems healthy enough except she's very hyper active after eating the chicken, i guess this is a protein high. What can i feed with the chicken to get the protein level down becauser the veg and mixer don't seam to make any difference? Also is there anthing missing from her diet anyone can suggest adding? Thanks for any advice. Shepp

Shepadoodle, looks like a pedigree. these crosses normally come out bigger than both parents. I see a labradoodle over the park it was a fine looking daft, great lump.

Collie/whippets are all too often too heavily built for rabbiting and too small for most other things.

I work with Poles every day and i've found them all to be decent hard working people. By the way i'm no bleeding heart lefty, i hate muslims as much as everybody else and would put a blanket ban on them all coming here. My friend had one some years back, she was a brilliant little bushing dog. She looked like a miniture whippet with a jack russel head. If i could get one like her i'd snap it up tomorrow but only as a bushing dog because i already own a lurcher. If it's a lurcher you want then a beddie whippet will be better for you, better still 3/4 whippet 1/4 beddie

I can appreciate how you feel FD, when I had my old bitch Gypsey put down some years ago I cried like a baby. She had no real quality of life left so I did what you will do and it is the right thing, you'll look back and always know you did right by him. One thing I think you should do if you can, is find a spot in the garden or a place he liked to go, dig a hole and bury him. It will make you feel like you did this last bit for him, it made me feel better anyway. Be strong. Shepp
