  5. Its not something thats ever bothered me in the past, but then again ive never had an incident like that one. Makes you realise how much damage a horse or a herd of cows could do,as i said earlier it gave me a hell of a fright being knocked over so easily and quickly. I can honestly say that if it hadnt been for me little beddy x bitch i think i would have been in a bit of a mess
  6. Mates have a habit of doing that I shall cross that field with a bit more caution next time
  7. My beddy x used to be a pain when she was young, but they sharp learn and the more they do it the better they get. Wouldnt think it matters what kind of dog is used? All dogs can mark to some extent. Not sure who it was,but someone on moochers once told me "watch your young dog, learn it stuff, but also be taught by your dog, learn to understand why it does certain things and your dog will help you become a good dogman" That was about 7 years ago,and ive never forgot that piece of advice, and its true,as a novice ive learnt how to read my dogs by watching them.
  8. Excellent, well happy for both you and your young dog Keep taking it slowly and keep the slips easy.
  9. Went out for a shine on some local land last nite, seemed good conditions so i gave it a whirl. Wind was blowing like mad and there were a few rabbits squatted down as we entered the first field. Ive ran this field for about 5 years, its rough pasture for horses. Slipped the young dog on the first squatter and he missed it,ran straight over the top of it Up jumps the rabbit and runs towards us,i realised the young un wasnt gonna make up the ground,so i slipped the bitch and she coursed it,turned it from the fence and straight into the path of the young fella. He missed it again Now ive
  10. Very good, you got to love them beddy x's keen little dogs. Mines just like yours mate, keen as owt.
  11. Sounds like the battery is f@cked or your not charging it for long enough. Ive got a cluson clulite, had it and the batteries for 6 years, bought them 2nd hand and i still get about 2 hours out of a 12v 7ah no probs. I always carry a 2nd battery and bulb as back up though, rarely need them, depends how much you have the lamp on though?
  12. I dont have a telly these days, mainly cos there was just crap on there, but The simpsons has got to be one the programmes i miss the most
  13. After an incredibly crap day that has cheered me up

  18. Lol,and i dont need a dog to make me look like that
  19. would you say this dog is marking or just pissing about
  20. If all you fellas are that hard and ballsy why dont you all come up Darlo way and help this bloke get his mutt back.? Come on,its christmas holiday time so theres no excuses about having to work mebbes the lads not a big hard c**t like all you lot?
  21. Id rather run them by day,ran a few at night back in the good old days, wouldnt say they were easy, easier mebbes but not easy. I dont have to hunt for food, and i dont believe theres that many people do actually 'need to'. And for that reason alone i prefered daytime hares, theres so much more to it than an easier kill.
  22. never owned one, seen a couple work. Wouldnt have one simply because of :- 1) i dont like the look of them 2) the ones i have seen work are mincers of anything they have caught. 3) the dogs i have do everything asked of them.
