  1. At what age do you think is too old for an ESS bitch to have a litter?
  2. I think its all down to personal preference, try leaving them a day longer than the last one you hung until you find out how gamey you like your neat.
  3. I know its been talked about before on here but i was out today in my hunter sovereigns and after the 1st 2 drives my toes were numb, spoke to a mate of mine who has the same pair and he said he wouldnt wear his in weather so cold so im looking for a good hunting boot (not welly type) semi high leg that will last me years, i dont want to be replacing them every season, ive heard that chameaus mouflon plus are not their weight in beans, what about Meindl or similar boots?
  4. Apparently its all to do with how the bird lands, if it lands on its back/side then it emits a scent, landing on its chest the scent glands are covered up by the wings, i dont now how true this is and have never seen it happen, my ESS bitch does retrieve them but cannot verify from which position they are before she finds them.
  5. I always find that im shooting in the right direction but the birds arent lol.

  14. Feed my dog WAGG for working dogs, dry mix, one bowl a day. She gets walked twice a day, with the 1st walk i introduce 10-15mins of refresher training using the whistle and various commands, her 2nd walk she is free to run around although i do not let her run too far in front, the rest of the time she is allowed to be in ther garden when i am at home. She currently lives in the garage but am building a run for her at the back of my double garage which she will live in when its complete, she does not have access to toys and is generaly a good working dog. Her retrieving is second to none but sh

  16. I can vouch for Paulus, a nice guy and thouroughly into his sport. Bought a gun from him last season, makes a mean cuppa too.
  17. Had a go at making elderflower cordial this year (as per HFW recipe), i make my own sloe gin every year so thought what the hell, thought i might have left picking the elderflowers till a bit late on in June as some were starting to go a bit brown but i picked the freshess looking ones. After cooking up what i thought looked like the colour of warm pi$$ i left it to cool and sampled some when it had been in the fridge over night, OMG, how come after all these years ive never made any of this incredible tasting cordial is beyond me, all the years of buying it from supermarkets wasted, will defi
  18. Have to say my parsnips, whilst slow to germinate, are doing really well, even my allotment holder neighbour has commented how well they are doing. Have to stay on his good side as he drops me produce off daily from his allotment, some mornings i cant wait to open the front door, 20 rhubarb stalks, a carrier bag full of potatos and a carrier bag full of spring greens this morning.
  19. Im having a bit of a mixed start to the growing season in Worksop, Notts. Built 2 raised beds last year 3.6m x 2m and only managed to get 1 full of soil before the growing season, parsnips, leeks and sprouts all have done very well as have my lettuces and strawberrys, nursery bought tomato plants x 6 also doing very well as my home sown ones did not do too good. Potatos all seem to be thriving in the potato bags i put them in. Having a bit of a nightmare with my pumpkin plants though as they do not seem to have taken in the other raised bed which i filled with soil dug from various parts of my
  20. Thats fooking shocking, regardless of what she said she didnt deserve that kinda treatment and the stupid fooks didnt even realise the cctv was there. Hope they get their badges revoked, big hard coppers, wish they came down to my gym gggrrrrrrr.
  21. BASC = BRITISH ARSOLES SNOBBY CXXNTS Typical answer from someone who probably knows F**k all about shooting. Biggest voice in the shooting in this country. Excellant Insurance. 24 hour advise line. Might not always agree with how they spend my subscription fee's but thats my problem, there certainly not the cheapest shooting organisation to be in but have the biggest voice which counts.
