  1. Think thats a library pic mate, i PM'd this guy over a week ago asking him to text me a pic of the actual boots and if they were in good nick id have had them, he never replied or sent the text. Make of that what you want
  2. Ex yorks, North or South? oh and welcome to the site, if you can shift through the $hite its a worthwhile tool for information and a wealth of experience.
  3. We have a healthy stock of wild english on our shoot that the keeper doesnt like being shot, if the odd one is mistaken for frenchy then hes ok with that, saying that i can never tell the difference when there coming at me at 60 miles an hour at 40 yards.
  4. If there the best boots youve ever owned......... why are you selling them. Ive just bought a pair and have seen some mixed reviews on them, hope i havnt bought a load of rubbish.
  5. Price varies mate, ive seen them on fleabay for £200, and as low as £50 but same old story, too far away. Im sure you could get a full length fridge cheap enough, try freecycle, its a free site that people give stuff away on that they dont want going to the tip.
  6. Any useful tips on passing? have mine soon so any help gratefully appreciated.
  7. Fook me, your dogs a good shot , nice gun too, looks english, what make is it? Im a big fan of sbs.
  8. I think prices vary, i get most game for free and tend to give it away, i used to buy brace of pheasants for £1 on a big shoot i used to beat at, partidge was the same and they'd gladly give you the pigeon. Ud be lucky to get £1.50 - £2.00 per rabbit gutted. I think youd make more money on the venison if you can get it cheap enough or even better shoot it yourself.
  9. Id use one if i could get one at the right price, use an old domestic 50/50 fridge freezer for my pheasants, the freezer comes in handy when i have a bit of a glut.
  10. Pity your not a bit closer mate, i would have taken you up on this and swapped the odd day with my syndicate.
  11. Dont you have to have a licence and permission from the Water Authority to trap them now? or am i just being conformist
  12. Really? didnt think they existed in britain, thats great.
  13. I was working in Clumber Park yesterday when we were alerted to an eagle owl sat in the woodland play area, a very rare sight in britain. A twitcher who was there told me it could be an escapee and probably not a wild one.
  14. I met him a few years ago and have to say he was a nice guy, had time to talk to everyone and didnt come across how he does in interviews. Wouldnt wanna be hit by him though, hands were fookin massive.
  15. Nice one fella, i think the best dishes are the ones you just think up at the time with whatever youve got laying around the kitchen
  16. I agree with you mate, as an ex soldier i think its disgraceful that this once proud nation is having its defences cut, we used to be of the most feared countries in the world with one of the best armies and now just when we need the resources they are being cut. The ever increasing threat of wars with Argentina over the Falklands and the Korean crisis only make matters worse for an army already engaged in combat with countries it has no beef with as we are just Americans cannon fodder. If Korea does kick off and we side with the Americans who have already backed South Korea we'll be fooked as
  17. It would be easier for factorys to close for that period and make everyone have that time off as annual leave. Im sure the press pluck these figures out of thin air just to create a stir and make people talk about it and state which paper they read it in to sell more papers.
  18. I think im getting the jist of it, it was reported this morning that the security alone was going to cost £20 million and im sure thats not the only cost that will be coming out of the public purse, this is just the tip of the iceberg. There is an argument to say that the wedding will bring in more than the cost to stage it in tourism and wedding related merchandise (which will probably be made abroad as its cheaper) but im not so sure.
  19. Ive seen a fair few on 3 shoots that i go on, in notts, a few been shot but have to say not seen as many as last year where one shoot was absolutely teaming with em. I personaly dont shoot them anymore, would much rather see them get flushed & fly off.
  20. Nice bit of kit that mate, just what i wanted a few months ago but a bit out of my price range. Good luck with the sale though.
  21. Was shooting in our sydicate a few years ago when the keeper who was the gun next to me hit a pearler of an english partridge as we watched it fall a harris hawk swooped down and took it just before it hit the ground, we later found the hawk and discovered it had got lost while its owner was working it, both bird and owner were united a few days later.
  22. What model is it mate? Is it a yeomans?
  23. I can vouch for matt, his dogs come from good homes, had an ESS from him a few years ago, best dog ive ever had. Good luck with the sale pal.
