Make sure you get the right Flint, back in the day there were more than one Rags, Witch and even Flint. I have several 'Pedigrees', pictures and Magazines in Boxes somewhere. I used the Spartacus stuff a bit and had a daughter from PH's Flint and at best she was a mediocre Fox Bitch, but a little erratic at the start. She went to a man at the South Devon. I never understood why Flint did well at the Shows, he was a fairly large Dog, but had spindly Legs and out of proportion. He came down to me a couple of times and was less than impressive, he wouldn't of come home with me. Spartacus was a do

Some Goldfinches sing better than others, some sing sooner than others and some only sing during the mating season. Over the years I have had Birds right across the spectrum and it has been the reason for giving some away. You want a Bird to sing most of the year, get a Mule and use a CD with a 'Mule Box'. He'll sing when ready, his Beak colour and Feather condition will be a bit of a clue when.

There's another one, again normal, singing Finch £30...........just putting it out there, maybe Courier or something.
-
I know of a 'normal' (nothing special) singing Finch noted Mule, £50 in Devon.........up to you, just to let you know.

Just to clarify the 'rant' is about how what Ken said on the TV has taken front page headlines and the public are disgusted, but when I was in Hunt service I was called all sorts of things and physically assaulted. Try to get the Police to act and it was considered risks of the job. Even when it happened to my kids. Just a 'rant'......lol.

Being part of a minority I used to get offended every time I went out carrying out my chosen sport. Some of the abuse and name calling I had to take on the Chin was, sometimes, deserving of a smack in the Mouth.....which may or may not have happened occasionally. Negro is a colour in some Countries and these Women have made money off the back of guys lusting after them in Magazines!!............When I was in the Forces I have pulled many a 'Pud' when 'away' on duty over some Magazine Crumpet....and they knew it!! Getting offended seems to be the norm these days. Racist, Sexist, ageist, all lab

To me a Bitch wouldn't be put to a Dog until the Bitch was 'proven', to my way of thinking. I would also choose a Dog of better or equal quality, so why would I then risk any Pups by potentially over facing the Bitch. I only want Terriers to go to ground and then Foxes would be accidents, so slightly more strenuous work......lol. A bit of Ratting shouldn't worry a proper working Terrier. We used to Hunt Hounds up until the 5th or 6th Week, when they were obviously showing and struggling.

Brave man....lol.

Seen some crackers over the years, especially when 'colour fed'.

When you say "top Guard dog" do you mean he's a top(good) guard dog or from 'Top Guard'? Is he sensible on a Chain and Cable? Will he get to grips or just Bark and posture? -
yep...you got it. What more can we feck up?!

No, a serious breed of Performing Pigeon, an actual 'Fancy'. Anyone else?
-
I think I have cracked it!!.......................No Falcons or Sparrowhawks to worry about, No losses or thefts to consider, No time of day issues or Weather conditions to hope for and No Neck and back ache!!.......................Anyone guess what type of 'Performance Pigeon' I am thinking of ?
-
Thanks mate, I have realised it seems to be regional, with a lot going on in the NE. It'll be the same as everything mate, this blood is better than that and don't do this cross do that, on top of that will be the regional bias towards certain strains. I am going to and be doing my flying in Eastern Europe, so would love to find some really old ENGLISH Blood.......whether it's Rollers/Tumblers or Tipplers. There is quite a Pigeon following in Europe and some of the former Eastern Block Countries. As for feeding, some of the Feed mixes I have seen for Tipplers are quite different to some of th

It's a good job you are used to Headaches........you are definitely going in to the right 'Fancy' for them........My Dad, some of his mates and all my Cousins and second Cousins on my Mums side have Raced for many years. I would like to get 'Performance Pigeons', but not Racers, not sure which type yet though......still researching and doing lots and lots of 'You Tube' watching. I am edging towards 'Tipplers' cracking looking Birds, but seen some nice Tumblers too. Room and time won't be an issue..........finances and finding the right Brood Stock........same old same old!

Derek, I wish there was a way of making the public at large aware of how much money is spent with other, for want of a better word 'Charities' too, namely the RSPCA. Vans, Premises, Uniforms, Logistics, Wages, Prosecution costs ad infinitum. I guess with this site it would be their interest in sports involving the use of Animals against other Animals. My personal hatred of their modern working ethics revolves around a few issues, but the original ethos of the RSPCA AND RSPB are far away from their origins. When the general public talk about homosexuality, as one example, it is accepted they c

Henny females, but looking for an Oxford or Irish Stag..........and this is why it is hard to find a good genuine line of Hennies....anywhere.
-
There are Hennies in the South West of England, of both persuasions and they will stay there. Through some less than satisfactory experiences time has proven, again, that .......'no good deed goes unpunished'.

fair enough, PM sent.

I can give you the Map grid references of a lot of failed 'digging dogs' in and around the Devon and Cornwall and beyond if you like. They should still be there......lol. I have seen this request many, many times over the years and always give the same answer......stay away from Terriers for 'Bushing', especially in these modern times of technology.
