  1. YOU ARE A VERY SILLY PERSON! It really won't be worth the £53 you have seen me off for. I promise you will come unstuck over this!!
  2. Two complete sets of Telemetry for sale, excellent condition of both. Ben Long set including 2 Transmitters and spare Batteries. Tinyloc set including 3 Transmitters and various ancillaries with spare batteries. PM for full details please.
  3. PM for full details, but I have 2 complete sets for sale. One is a Ben Long with 2 Transmitters on 173 and the other is a Tinyloc on 433 with 3 transmitters plus other stuff. PM for details.
  4. I agree that Eye colours are purely cosmetic, but certain cosmetic traits point to 'Ancestry'. I am not talking about how they are put together necessarily or thier Show worthiness, but certain 'Family' traits which come out in the better individuals. One example is in 'Honeybunch' bred Bulldogs, they have a Family trait of having a strip of black Fur run a third of the length of the Tails and a black Mask. Not all, but quite a few of the tightly bred 'Honeybunch' stuff does.......looking a lot like she did. The majority marked that way seem to be 'keepers', could be Kennel blindness but we ar
  5. Over many years there has been a lot of hybridising and then breeding back to either the Sire or Dams side. Some of my 'better' Terriers have had as dark an Eye as you can get and the majority of not so good have had brown, yellow and 'cur' looking Eyes. The majority of my Terriers have also been black, for the same reason as my Eye preference. Due to the amount and different types of Terrier I have had, it can't be all coincidence when a really dark Eyed Terrier turns out to be one of the better ones. When you are picking a 9 or 10 week old Pup, there has to be certain traits you prefer to se
  6. In years gone by, I remember the one thing which did stand out was how dark and soul-less their Eyes were. Some of the Terriers from a distance looked as though they just had black holes in their Heads. Some of the reasonable 'digging dogs' I have had over the years had really dark, almost black Eyes. It was a trait I looked for in a so called 'Patterdale', in fact when I picked a Pup it nearly always had 'black' Eyes. Any lines around now still with the dark Eyes?
  7. Swap you a Deben Mrk 1 8ft Ferret Collar and Box? I wouldn't pay money for the Book, but got one of these hanging around in excellent condition.
  8. A lot of the arguments could be settled by DNA testing [£60 a dog im told] but nobody seems to want the real truth? And if you x Beddy with Lakie and produce workers, which dog deserves the credit? snobbery mate, and worse barefaced lies. A mate bought a beddy from G.Newcombe in the 's,good little bitch to ground,he [George] openly told my mate he was using Lakie blood to Improve his Bedlintons,he also said he was struggling to find the right type of Lakeland blood he wanted. I wanted to buy a pair from him in the 's, from the same Sire and two different Dams (so he told me).
  9. Well it depends what you want the word 'pure' to mean, been debated many, many times. There are very, very few, IF ANY so called 'pure' Bedlingtons around which work to ground. Stuart Staleys dog Rambo was used for Lurcher breeding too and to cross with other strains of Terrier. Used on top a lot but also went into some Fox Earths on occasion. George Newcombe told me himself he crossed his stuff with Lakeland and one of his Studs was in fact a Lakeland Terrier. He also told me they were bred to be very hard and explained that if one came out you can be sure the Fox is dead and you can move on.
  10. To ME it was not acceptable to breed from a non Badger digging Bitch, she would also need to be a hard Fox Bitch too. Hence the reason I have only intentionally bred 2 Litters EVER. They were for replacement Fox Dogs for when I was in Hunt service, from Reasonable digging Dogs to Fox only Bitches, but the two Bitches killed their Foxes more often than not. I always had a cur for bolting and digging one out for the Hounds though, as a necessity. I never had a 'digging Dog' and 'digging Bitch' at the same time to be able to breed them together. I had a decent Dog with no Bitch or I had a decent
  11. Because of legal issues this Topic can't be fully and truthfully discussed. For 'Historical reference' I will give my tuppence worth. There were guys out there who went digging purely for Badgers and their Terriers occasionally came across a Fox, which was released and left for the local Hunt on their 'days', if the Terrier did not kill or injur it too much. Some of these Dogs were a little big for true Fox Earths and 'cubbing' but as they weren't bred for that it didn't matter too much. Obviously the better and more successful Terriers were bred from and the not so good 'culled'. A 'not so go
  12. I know, I always talk bollox, not done a lot of digging. IF you need to take a 'Draw Dog' out with you to get the job done, then that's your business, as long as you get the job done.........don't matter how eh? Summer digger, says a lot! Do what you want, how you want, I was giving my opinion as the guy was asking for them from members. In my OPINION a 'Drawing Dog' or Lurcher is not a necessity and personally 99.9% of the time I haven't needed or wanted one at a dig, the .1% where one has been needed I have made do and struggled on with saws and mattocks...."is all mo fo, kapeesh"....lmao. T
  13. got for sale a complete Tinyloc Telemetry outfit ( look on their Web Site) There is the Receiver, 2 x F22 Tags, 1x Spar/Merlin sized Tag, Roof Top Aerial, Hard Plastic Case, Magnets for on/off, spare Batteries, Tag Cap, Cigarette lighter power Cable and Spring Clips. A very extensive Set and only one Tag has been used, less than 10 times as a secondary Tag. The rest hasn't been used, got a Ben Long outfit too as main Locator. I am asking £510 plus P&P, for the whole lot. Look on the Site and see what the whole lot is worth, around £900-£1,000.
  14. IF I had the money spare, I would pay £500 for a good Dog, whether with prick Ears, Queen Anne Legs, undershot Jaw, shite Coat or Bitchy looking, physically it would pretty much only need 4 Legs and enough Dentistry to be effective. After discussing with the seller what I want from the dog, I would expect to trial the Dog (If I didn't know the Dog) with a money back guarantee. Because the owner is asking that sort of money it would tell me he is confident in his Dog, so there shouldn't be a problem. The Lineage wouldn't necessarily matter to me, been some good scatterbred Dogs over the years.
  15. I have never taken a Lurcher or any other type of catching/drawing Dog out on a digging day. If a Fox bolted it was waved good bye and good luck, see you on a Hunt Day. Then we would get down to the real aim of the day, to dig to a Terrier on it's proper prey. If 'one' bolted and the dog never moved, ideal, we can get another dig possibly with a different Terrier later on. At the end I considered it an insult to the prey and Terrier to be in a situation to NEED a drawing dog. It was just a question of letting a young Terrier have a look, if I had one, then clear the Tube and let it by for anot
  16. 'smicker' I have been area rep for the F&M twice, giving it up the last time about 14 years or so ago. I went to a general meeting one year and the biggest talking point and debate was about the colour the Rosettes should be of the Clubs main Show!! This was some 'so called' names in the Club too, explaining they had won coutless Rosettes and they should be this or that colour. I was of the opinion "who gives a shite"??! In between the debate and shouting we had the South Wales area Rep telling, anyone who would listen, he had the best Badger Digging Borders in the Country. For me it was a
  17. I have, in the past, dug 1 to 7 days a Week which includes 3 days a Week while in Hunt Service and Sundays. I have been 'Terrierman' for 3 different registered packs locally over the years. I have also been fortunate enough to work nights, on the Doors, which has given me the days free. There has also been times where I haven't had a Terrier, of my own, to dig to, but gone out on invites with other Terriermen from various Hunts and non Hunt Terriermen, along with guys I have invited down. In the past I have geared my life around having the ability to BE ABLE TO dig as many times as possible, h
  18. I am closer to fifty than forty and have 'dabbled' in Animal related 'Sports' where lineage and conditioning has played a major part for quite a few years. As Smicker says, the Breeding for success formula has proven, to me and others, to be similar no matter what Animal is being Bred. Whether, in my experiences, it's Game Fowl of any kind, Pitbulls, Terriers, British Finches or Lurchers. I have had several guys down over the years with their 100% Dogs and a few have been worth feeding, but nearly all I wouldn't want to pick their shite up and feed. I am fortunate enough to be able to dig 7 d
  19. Breeding and Phylosophies on Breeding, will ALWAYS be and nearly always has been reasons for many a 'debate'. IF someone had the formula for producing consistently high percentage, good quality 'prospects' their Pups could and would be in high demand. Certainly the Sire and Dam would never go to ground again, in my Kennel, should they prove to be producers of like or better than themselves!! Whatever Breed of Dog it is. Genetics determine everything from Colour, Build and working quality. However the individual Dogs life experiences also determine their overall quality. Genetically the Dog ha
  20. As above. Bought as a gift but ended up as a repeat purchase! So this one has been sat in it's Box in the Cupboard unworn. Comes in original Box with all the original manuals and instructions. It was only bought a couple Months ago. I would like £100 plus the P&P, you will see, if you do the research that is a very good price. Suunto has a web site and the outdoor military supplies store 'RV Ops' also carry the whole range. I know several guys who have these and swear by them, but I won't wear it because I have a decent Watch.
  21. Is very easy to find him on tinter net!! Many thanks for the advice, but been doing some research myself already. Thanks to those who have e-mailed and PM'd me, the Country is getting smaller! Please keep them coming...Vehicles? Habits? etc. To the guys who have insinuated some kind of revenge or me "jive talking" (?? lol)......please....... do you honestly think I would lay threats etc over the Internet. Just collating information for reference, possibly, for use in the future. I am just waiting on a photograph for confirmation of something (these new Phones are 'spot on') and then the se
  22. The problem is 'expert' versus 'expert' at the end of the day, in these cases. The expert witness/advisor for the RSPCA, in this case, is Rodger Cayton, of British Bird Council fame. I have photos of him, on my mobile, taken only a few days ago! I believe the Wolverhampton area is his 'resting place', but someone can gladly prove me wrong.....should they know? Good thing about this Country, it isn't very big and someone always knows someone who knows someone else, who lives somewhere. REWARD OFFERED.
  23. Hi I could do with speaking with someone who has experience in the above law, with reference to British Finches etc. Anyone? I WOULD LIKE TO PICK YOUR BRAINS.

PM'S replied to and number left. Yes 'Strong Stuff' they were around £600 new. I went over to NI to meet up with Ricky B and a few of the lads from down the way, went to see Stevie B and look at some of the crossed up shite Tom had there!....lol. I went to K's House and then the Yard to see the Mills being made, well put together and they run well. The price reflects the fact it has to be picked up.
