just had a quick look and its a mk2 with the barrel band and new type filler.
i'd say your new price is reasonable but as always its what somebody will pay.

if all is as should be then the rws is a top quality gun,made by axsor of sweden very similar to the fx2000,logun axsor etc.
does it have the turkish walnut stock or the black synthetic?
some came with seven shot mags and some came with eight.

if it ain't broke don't fix it is my motto with pcp's.
if the gun is shooting as it should then why mess with it.
the only reason a gun could 'explode' is failure of the air cylinder wall which takes many years to happen under normal use.
i would imagine the gun will 'need' numerous services because of failed seals before this problem would ever arise.
then again i'm sure the manufacturers would disagree with this,but then again they'll be getting around another £100 of your hard earned every time you get it serviced.
it all sounds very dramatic but in reality the terrier like all other working dogs is compelled to do what he does through centuries of selective breeding by man.
