  1. Cheers mate .How good is it in the field.atb. Catcher i've owned all but the brocock and they are all great in the field.
  2. falcon fn12 lighthunter weighing under 5lb fx cyclone carbine weighing just over 5lb the new brocock aim x rifle, similar to the falcon but i doubt the same quality. AGS litew8,a little over 5lb
  3. last nights haul.after a slow start things picked up and we were home by 10.15pm
  4. me and pointer were out a couple of nights ago again and the numbers seem to be increasing again. no doubt the influx is due to the cutting of the fields and the drop in temperature.
  5. nice little gun but just looks like a falcon wanabee to me.
  6. these are from three days ago when i went solo. strong wind and bright moonshine plus the farmers busy around the buildings didn't help but i did my best.
  7. these rats are taken on my permision, different from the permision pointer mentioned in the previous post. i don't think those lads will be around for too long on pointers permision, its quite a small farm and once they've taken the 'easy' ones i bet they lose interest and leave pointer to winkle out the survivors.they came before with their lamps and lost interest and i'll bet they do the same again.
  8. not a silly question at all zac.yes i've seen it many times,a rat jump or sidestep a pellet.more so a .22 than a .177 which moves faster. i tried the much talked about .25 for ratting but sharp god rid.unless REALLY close range a rat can avoid these like the plague.in my opinion people who recomend .25 for ratting haven't done much. i'm talking here in the context of sub 12ft lb here.
  9. cheers mate, that puts us somewhere around the 400+ bodies not counting the ferals.
  10. well pointer couldn't make it last night as he was a chasing coneys about so i thought i'd go solo. well as it happend it was a very lively night.i managed to get around 25 in one and three quarter hours shooting and to be honest i could of kept going and no doubt improve my tally by many. but i decided to call it an early night and get myself off home and to bed, leaving some sport for the next time.
  11. yes, but these few became lead chewwers
  12. i would say the fx stirrup pump is the easiest to use and can fill you buddy bottles to 232 BAR. i would fill them in stages though, say maybe 40 pumps then a rest both for you and the pump, then 40 more etc till its full. if you try fill a bottle in one go the pump can get really hot and will damage the seals, hence doing it in stages letting it and you cool down between pumps is the way to go.
  13. the logun axsor doesn't have a threaded barrel,it has a silencer adaptor slleved over the end of the barrel and its not sitting exactly straight.this can be remedied by putting a slither of something like camera film betwwen the silencer and adaptor to pull ther silencer in line with the barrel when screwing the silencer on.put it exactly oppisite to where the pellet is clipping.keep adding thickness till the pellet clears the silencer.
  14. not the best night we've had of late due to circumstances beyond our control. i wonder if the council still give you sixpence per tail,we'd be quids in
  15. lovely gun these,i had a mk1. it would be much easier if they just had a perminantly fixed air source though. and on the mk1 if you dry fired it without the magazine in the breech seal had a habit of being blown out. i still liked mine though.
  16. I THINK YOU WILL FIND HE WAS HAVING A SLY DIG AT THE PLUMMER BREED TERRIER MATE not really a dig mate,a dog that won't stay can be a godsend for someone just looking for a quick bolt to a gun and not looking to dig for a few hours.
  17. you could try a plummer.they,ll bolt rabbits, kill a few rats and if they don't bolt the fox you won't be waiting long for the dog to surface.
  18. thats an fn12 mate. nice gun none the less.
  19. is this a pi$$ take. try santa clause,he has some spares from his reigndeer
  20. try around a 30/1 mix too much oil and you'll foul the plug, too little and you'll sieze the engine.
  21. i might have been if id won the King Rat competition which was supposed to end on the first of September but ive heard on the grapevine its now running untill the end of the year :D that seems like a bad case of 'moving the goalposts'
  22. same here.i had a look out last night as well, sat waiting half an hour for the rain to stop.when it did i spent about 2 hours TRYING to shoot in strong winds.gave up after missing loads and only shot six.here's the bodies found.
  23. i'm guessing you have the quickfill silencer on it? they look good but are crap for surpressing sound.take it off and get a 1/2 inch unf silencer adaptor then you can fit loads of quality silencers eg weihrauch or logun QGS. get a dust cap/cover to go over the brass quick fill attachment to keep the dirt out of the charging port. a detwanger will make the gun sound quieter when you're firing it but will make little difference further down range ie where you're shooting at.the 'twang' noise is made in the air cylinder and only sounds bad because your ear is very near it.
  24. you first need swivel studs that screw into your stock to allow the fitting of swivels and bipod.
  25. yeah we give them two choices..................dog or gun. coz we nice like that
