  1. sounds a very good idea, Any suggestions where to purchase? thanks
  2. I have been looking online as I am after a full length shotgun cabinet, There is a lot to choose from, However does anyone have a reliable site that the majority of people use? or good sites to check? Thank you
  3. I HAVE NOW SPOKEN WITH THEM - However I had the impression this was a friendly site and I thought I would ask people ACTUAL senarios that HAVE happened in the past. SECONDLY I thought it would be a WORTHWHILE exercise to apply for both licences together so I had the opportunity to go target shooting if required and not have to re-apply. Sorry if you think I am wasting peoples time however I thought people would be helpful towards new starters. I thank you all who have helped me out.
  4. Thank you, where would you suggest is a suitable place to but a cabinet? I was going to make one but if I do I could possibly make it and it not be as the standard, then it would delay my application!! How much am is it likely going to cost for one? Also do I need a secure "safe like" device for the ammo? could a digital safe be actually used for this purpose?? Thanks for the help
  5. Thank you, I DO live in Ashington as it happens!! hehe only joking, I live in Ryton. If I had a gun cabinet fixed to the back of the garage wall against the wall which is the opposite side to the living room would this be suitable do you think? I would build it and fix with expanding bolts etc. I don't really want to do it unless it would be acceptable.I mean if nobody has an answer I can easily ring the firearms department to ask. Thanks
  6. Thanks, I think I am going to apply for both shotgun and firearms together, Would a Garage be acceptable however? as it is a brick wall, however they may consider the garage door un secure??? Thanks
  7. Appreciate the point you are trying to make but the law is the law and all regions have the same requirements under it...they just interpret the law the way they want to!! A single shotgun (actually 2) may be legally held with a ground anchor...NO cabinet required! But you will find just about every force will be happier with a cabinet!! Thanks, do you have any pictures of a required Ground anchor and the required cable/lock? or can you use one which is for anchoring a motorbike? and also can you use a brick wall inside your garage to fix a cabinet too? or must it be inside your ho
  8. Hi All, I am new to the world of Shotguns, I have only previously owned air guns/rifles. I was going to purchase a good air rifle again. However I have quite taken to the idea of Clay pigeon and also game shooting. I was wondering what Northumbria expect in the way of Gun security/cabinet or cable lock etc for a single semi-auto gun? and also the timescal to obtain a licence with them? As i am aware different forces have different requirements. Also how much am I looking at for a good s/h semi?? Im sorry if these questions have been over asked etc, I have read previous post
  9. Yes multi shot is really what im looking for, is the bsa scorpion still suitable for this? i am going to go to the shops as soon as i can to try out and hopefully buy at a good deal!! I would imagine a bottle of compressed air is more suitable than trying to pump it into the cylinder. thanks
  10. thanks for all the help some how much is it likely to cost for a pump etc, and can i pre load the carbine with a few pellets and just keep opening the breech?
  11. hi It was the Scorpion Carbine with scope for £350 I seen, not the T10 what is the difference in these models? or is a airarms a better bet rifle? Can also somebody please expalin how a pre charged pneumatic rifle operates compared to a single cock spring loaded rifle?? does this still need to be cocked after each shot? im really sorry for my ignorance but i have a very BASIC knowledge. thank you so much.
  12. Hi All, I have a plinker air gun and have previously had a .177" air rifle, you had to cock it after every shot and was spring loaded 'very old' however i am looking for one so i can take it up as a hobby, target shooting 'hopefully at a range' when i find one, and maybe a bit of ratting, i would go to maybe £300 and would like a scope etc. i am based in the north east if anyone knows of a good store? I have done some research and like the look of the .22" bsa scorpion. Any one have any suggestions??? thank you kindly.
