  1. Hi, After looking for a diving tank to fill up my pre-charge I have been told that for an 7litre 300 bar I need to pay an extra £50 for it at the diving shop as it uses a different valve system to a normal divers tank, is this a load of rubbish or is there some truth in the matter? as i cant seem to recall seeing any specific shooting tanks. and surely if i got a normal divers tank i can buy an adapter a lot cheaper than 50quid??? thanks
  2. thanks, i was told i needed a 300 bar bottle, however the gun requires to be 200bar, so i really cant see a problem with a 234? even after the dip in pressure as it will stil be 200bar?? do you agree? thanks
  3. With a 3 litre tank at 234 bar it is not going to get you that many fills because you will want to fill the gun to around the 190 mark and most dive shops will either fill to 200 or 300 bar. They will fill to 220 but by the time the cylinder has cooled of after the fill you are going to be left with 200 to 210 thus giving you just 20 bar max to play with and that is not a lot with a 3 litre cylinder. HTH Michael so reallistically how many fills do you think out of the one canister? thanks
  4. thanks for the reply guys, I was in two minds with the pump I believe it will take around 50 pumps or so to fill it? its just incase I ever get another gun I was thinking it would be useless for that as it would take too long, and thats IF I did, the shop said a 300 bar canister but if your charging only 200 bar then Im sure a 232 is ample for the task?? Thanks for the advise
  5. hi all, just got myself a bsa ultra .22 and I think my best option for charging will be to get a diving canister and keep charging that up, which one do I need to look out for? I will get a 3litre one but what bar of pressure do I need to get etc etc? Thanks for your help.
  6. I was just wondering the best method to store my gun in the loft, i have lay it on top of a blanket, the loft is cold so I need to have the best set-up to keep it dry without moisture etc, does anyone know the best method? shall I wrap it up in a blanket fully in the cabinet? lightly cover it? or just leave it un-covered? my cabinet is lying down if this helps... Thanks for the help
  7. thanks, Is 12lbs the maximun for a pistol aswell as a rifle? or do air pistols have a smaller maximum allowance?? oppose to a rifle? Thank you
  8. thanks for the opinions guys, What is the maximun FPS I can have in both an air gun and air rifle before needing a FAC? I know the lbs rating but the majority of guns I have looked at only state a maximum FPS figure. Thanks
  9. Hello everyone, Im tired of waiting for my SGC!! So i have decided to get myself a nice little pistol for shooting vermin / a little bit of targeting practice to keep me going!! Does anyone have any suggestions?? I see the crosman 2240 gets a good write up, I really want it to shoot vermin from a decent range also. Thanks
  10. thanks, Yes I would imagine the SxS has the better options avaiable with different choke settings and twin triggers, altho the o/u has an easier targeting method, but the SxS looks better!! agghh!! im just going to have to see what I can get and what is suitable etc and in budget. Thanks all, I have the FAO coming round on Thur so hope everything goes well!!! Thanks again
  11. Having decided against a semi for game/clay, which is the better one to look for ? the side by side or o/u? this is my first gun. Thanks
  12. Hi all, Afetr having to install my gun cabinet horizontal in the loft, (is having them like this ok for the guns etc?) I need to know the best way to protect the guns from rusting as the loft is always cold etc etc. Thanks

  15. Thank you everyone, your help is much appreciated, My mind is made up! O/U is what I will be getting when my SGC arrives!! Thanks again
  16. How is it easier to fit than a normal bolt fixing?? You still have to mark and drill four holes, then fill it whatever you decide. Yep, drill four holes, but if your out with the bolt fixings & you come to fit the gun cabinet, it can be a bit awkward lining the holes up. But with the chemical resin you just put your cabinet against the wall, mark the holes, drill them, put the cabinet back on the wall/lined up with the holes, squeeze the resin in, push the threaded bar into the holes, let it set, then tight the nuts to keep the cabinet onto the wall, HLAH Thank you
  17. Yes it seems the O/U lanber guns are quite well regarded, I have seen one of these also and liked how it handled etc, 400 s/h, Where can I purchase a new one for £600? Thanks
  18. Cool, this is what I will do, So can I get this from B&Q etc? So I need this and EXPANDING BOLTS? or what else do I fix with the chem fix so I can bolt into it? Or is it just a case of drilling the holes, filling with chemical fix and the pushing the bolts thro' the cabinet and into the wall? Thanks
  19. Now that is quick!!! So not even a week before they came out? flipping hell, I am told 8weeks from start to finish!! hope they pull there finger out!! well my cabinet isnt getting delivered until Tue and I sent off Last Tue, havent heard anything yet.
  20. Thats Great, How long does it take after they come out at say its ok before you actually recieved your SGC ?
  21. I agreed with my F.A.O that a loft was a suitable place to fit my gun cabinet, however I have been up and there is no joists, its a new house so they are just small supporting buts of wood etc, However I have breeze block walls either side up there, I am waiting to ring the FAO on monday to confirm this is ok. What do you guys think? Also what is the best method to fix to breeze block? Chemical fix??? Thanks
